@Aydena To be fair, it's fairly close to my normal bean soup recipe.
Started off many years ago as some kind of 'official' recipe - long enough I don't remember the original source, just that it was from a food company and not a standard recipe book.
It had a small can of tomato sauce and some Italian-ish spices (garlic, oregano, olive oil) - so why not add more tomato and more Italian spices for a stronger flavor? Why not add more bean variety (including, yes, garbanzo beans) for more body and a bit of flavor mix? And hey, I've got some smoked turkey left over from Thanksgiving, why not try that instead of the ham? ^^;;;
Calling it a 'recipe' is a bit generous, honestly, more of a guideline, since it mutates from batch to batch...
