But the discount was changed from 15% to 10%, there fore something else has changed.

That being said, the Readers Club is a completely different issue. First of all, because membership uses to give you two services, both access to prepubs and catchups, and now you effectively have to pay separately for each one. Also, catchups meant you always had something to read - you could catch up with a couple of new novels every month and then continue reading prepubs, and next month you had new catchups waiting for you.
I do like that the Readers Club means you don't need to rush, because everything there will stay there. That said, all novels that are fully available are completed series and seems that most of them are very short ones (avg 4-5 volumes total). Right now there are 51 fully available titles, and assuming you like about half of them enough to read all the way, you'd exhaust the catalog pretty quickly unless new titles are added frequently (yet to be seen).

And another issue is that the price increase was the coin value of books instead of the real money value of coins - effectively this means that existing coins that you've purchased or got through premium membership lose value and not just future purchases. The lack of proper advance notice means we did not even have time to use all the coins.we already had at their full value.

Personally I'm not too sure how to proceed. $40 annual increase for what I had until last month is pretty steep.

2021 is when Kadokawa acquired J-Novel.
Then there was the transition from credits to coins.

It may be a nonmeaningful coincidence that there haven't been any sales for the last two years.

This is just a thought off the top of my head, but given the JNC writing contest is going on you may be able to offer free proofreading services to those of us working on our stories for submission. Obviously I don't know if that breaks any of the rules or something, but it would be a good way to get experience proofreading and would help those of us who don't have a lot of experience writing become better writers.

That is a good idea. However, I just enrolled in a few classes using a New York State Department of Labor program. So I'm going to be too busy until after the contest. Also, it feels like something that should be against the rules if it isn't already...

Thanks for confirming this for me. I had been thinking that I would not have time to finish a lot of JNC books but it seems there is enough time to get them done.

I read a lot of books between what I buy directly, Kindle Unlimited (I mainly use KU to read LitRPGS and some mystery novels)a and now JNC series.

Why don't you include dollars in the translations?

Any translator/editor worth their pay will include dollars when it makes sense. However, 99% of the novels feature a Japanese person in a fantasy world so it simply won't make sense to use any currency other than the local currency and whatever the protagonist is familiar with.

In a hypothetical situation where there's a British protagonist I'm sure that expressing currency in pounds will be considered, even if the source mentions yen.
