It looks like one of the big themes of the series is the disconnect between how she thinks of herself and her actions ('perfectly reasonable!'), and the hints we see from others' reactions ('no, they really aren't!'). I'm not familiar with how these suggestions would be made in Japanese idiom; is it represented any differently there, and how hard is it to translate those hints?
