Having read a certain hillock of fowl's translations of the first two volumes, it's quite a good series. Very fluffy, but at the same time, has some serious bits.

So kinda similar to How NOT to Summon with a way past just socially awkward MC but normal romance instead of harem? I like the sound of it but trying to hold off on upvoting everything.

@smashman42 It is similar to Demon Lord in how everyone thinks the MC is an evil villain, but the reader can hear his insecure and shy thoughts. It’s more similar to Ancient Magus’ Bride in how he bought the girl at a slave auction on impulse because he fell in love at first sight.

It's a fluffy and fun novel I'd love to throw my money at. Either it is already licensed and not announced yet or all possible publishers just hate making money.

To be fair, even Zagan thinks that he's a villain, and he's killed lots of people in the past without any hesitation. It's really his meeting of Nephie that changes that, because he begins weighing every action he takes against "What would Nephie think if I did this?"
He was never really evil, though, just... chaotic neutral, I suppose.
