Dictionary for the app
-
Adding a dictionary fonction in the app, to quickly research words in a text, like there is on google book or kindle, cause is really usefull.
I don't know how hard it's to add or if getting the data is expensive tho. -
I like the idea- the problem is that the app doesn't have a 'real' reader (read full epubs etc) that you could link a dictionary to.
I think a wiki would be great as well
-
@jon-mitchell I don't really understand what you mean by real reader, can't we link a dictionary to the app and search the select world ?
By wiki, do you mean a common wiki for all J-novel club serie ? -
JNC prepubs aren't simple text, so you can't select words.
-
Yes a 'wiki' for all the series-
My initial thought a glossary of terms that many but maybe not all readers are familiar withyes, google and 'TV tropes' is a thing - (and is great in its own right), but adding footnotes/author notes would upset the flow of reading. if there was a place where a reader could look up what tsundere meant or whatever, (without leaving the site/app) that'd be great
maybe a separate title? maybe under "help"?
-
@jon-mitchell I'm not sure for the common wiki part, since there's allready a wiki for most series.
But i totaly agree for the glossary, with the site growing they may have new reader who don't know about anime terms or honorifique (even if JNC remove them from most series) . -
Some series have a glossary as premium content, so I doubt they'll ever add something like that.
-
@terabyte Yeah but it's one on the serie it's a bonus of, not general LN/anime words like Tsundere, Kudere, moe, ... or bit of japanese which are keep like the honorifique
