Library app for PC?

Something occurred to me when browsing light novel titles on my PC. I have them pretty tidy, like, separated into distinct folders, for example j-novel's are in their own folder.
It's pretty no-fuzz and logical.But, sometimes I miss the 'library' approach of so many phone apps, as well as their aesthetics(but I hate reading on phone. Though I love my Kobo reader), where you can simply sweep your gaze over the thumbnails to see if something catches your eye, and it isn't just looking at a plain list of files in a dull folder.
Is there anything similar for PC, that works on a folder/folders?

@korppi I'm not sure, but I think it is doable....
If I may enquire... What OS do you have? What file types are your novels? Would you be opposed to having to, besides the actual file of the novel, also have a jpg of it's cover?

Win10, epubs, (I usually strip the drm/convert to epub any bought elsewhere(amazon, kobo)). On PC I use Calibre to read, unfortunately it doesn't have something to that effect(or if it has, I've not found it...)

Well, @Korppi told you the wae to use Caliber's incorporated viewer, but I think you had something like this:

Personally I dabble in making win32 apps with the old Multimedia Builder Suite, and, in my case for Comics, I find the idea interesting
In fact, I might make the app for me, it'd be easy to change the target from cbr/cbz/etc to epub. -
@taedirk Thanks, somehow I've missed that feature, the link was helpful. Downside is I have to add the folders to Calibre first, essentially creating duplicates on my PC. Fortunately I'm not short of space. Other is for some reason calibre takes a while to load.
@alfonso_rd_36 Thanks for the interest. That's how most look on android(moonreader+, BookWalker etc)

@korppi Calibre works best if you use it as a catch-all library and use tags/metadata/virtual library features to filter back down to smaller views. It requires a bit more bookkeeping when you're adding new titles to make sure your data is consistent but that's half the fun of amassing a digital collection.

I did find a preview handler for epubs for win10 called darkthumbs, it parses the cover image from inside the file and the result is pretty much as if you were viewing normal image thumbs;
Unfortunately there's no way to remove filenames to make it look cleaner. Or change the background(to a shelf or something). But at least it's instantaneous unlike calibre.
Works automatically when choosing to view large(and up) icons in a folder with any epubs present. -

If it isn't strictly necessary for you, I'd recommend refraining (because I haven't audited the software for viruses myself, so I cannot vouch for its safety). But I'll just put it out just in case you really want it. I just did a cursory Google, and found this software:

On a seperate but related note, if you want to personalise the folder icon, you can do just that on both Windows and Mac.

There Used to be the feature, using desktop.ini
