Rebuild World [Licensed by J-Novel Club]

Post apocalyptic sci-fi story where the MC is a scavenger looking for remnants of the fallen high-tech society. MC is aided by an augmented reality AI that makes a certain contract with him in the beginning. Unknown to the MC is that he is the 499th person the AI approached with the contract, apparently things did not go too well for the other 498.
Lots of action scenes and detailed descriptions of weapons and gear. Overall a great series if you like sci-fi action.

That's strange, I could have sworn there was a topic for this book that I'd previously upvoted that had a whole bunch more information about the series. Guess it must have gotten lost in the forum upgrade.
Anyway, looks like the series is up to 7 LNs now.
It's also apparently fairly popular making the top 10 ranking for LNs in the annual Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! for 2020 and 2021 issues (Rank 5 for 2020 and Rank 4 for 2021) according to wikipedia.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kono_Light_Novel_ga_Sugoi!A fair number of LNs that make this ranking appear to have anime series attached to them, so there's a reasonable chance that we could see an anime series come out sometime down the line

Very interesting series that I hope will eventually get translated.

I'll give this one my vote. The setting is pretty interesting with good action to boot.
Volume 5 (Actually Volume 8) just came out last month too.

Just basing on what I've read from the manga, and bits and pieces from the web novel, I'm pushing for this one to get a translation too. It's that interesting. Setting aside good illustration, what I really liked about Rebuild World are the characters. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it felt like I was really enjoying their interactions. Their monologues bring so much character into them.

An absolute gem, been waiting for years for it to get licensed since stumbling upon the manga version of it. Still waiting for it to happen, I don't understand why it hasn't got licensed yet as it is one of the top 10 novels in Japan.

I'm wondering if maybe part of the issue is because it's in the top 10 and hasn't been licensed yet, the publisher wants more than what the licensing companies are willing to pay.
It is interesting that when you look at the 2021 top 10 listing, virtually every title has been picked up by either Yen Press or JNC (there's one title on the list that Sol Press seems to have, but I can't really say what their prospects are given that topic about them in the general LN section). I think at most only 2 titles remain unlicensed, so it would make my day if JNC could grab this one (nothing against Yen, but I just went looking for a manga series I just found out they'd licensed and started released earlier this year only to find the first two print volumes are already out of stock at every retailer I can locate). That said, I could also see Yen going after this one as they also have 86 which based on the anime seems to have a similar vibe in that it's a post apocalyptic sci-fi series that doesn't involve reincarnation, isekei or focus very much on romances.

@master-zen-4kidgkf Cause it's a Kadokawa title. Kadokawa isn't known for playing nice with all publishers. For the last 10 years or so, they've owned Yen Press and have pretty blatantly played favorites with reserving any licenses they think would do well for YP.
The issue is that Yen Press is just one company and can't support all of Kadokawa's series which make up around half the entire LN market in Japan. So a whole lot of stuff that's highly requested doesn't get licensed.
Hopefully we can start to see this change considering Kadokawa bought out J-Novel Club which might give JNC a higher level of access to Kadokawa titles.

Rooting for this as well. It's a very good novel.
-
The novel made 4th place again (no change from last year) in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings for 2022 (according to Wikipedia). This puts it right behind another popular JNC title Ascendance of a Bookworm that made 3rd this year (down from 2nd).

Volume 6 (Part 2) (10th volume in the series) comes out this month in Japan.
