I split this out from the "What are you Watching" thread to minimize the clutter.

Ichigo worst girl 2018 confirmed.
-
The 4chan rage the day that episode aired was the best part.
-
@eins Oh yeah. My son was rolling with every new post he found.
-
TBH I’m not angry at that at all as I feel Hiro will end up with ZeroTwo once again in a episode or 2. Also them mentioning that the next mission will be the hardest they had so far totally sets off the vibe of a death flag. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Ichigo either.
-
@hyferzftw Ooh yeah. I'm expecting someone to die or get seriously injured.
-
I just read an article on ANN about all the rage after the last episode. It was more of a let down for me, so I really didn't expect it'd get that much of a reaction.
Personally, I'm not angry. When I was young, I did a lot of desperate stupid things when I was in love too. I've amazed at how well Goro is taking all this.
-
@shrike_al I submit that we haven't seen how Goro is taking it yet. I've got a feeling that were going to see it at a very bad time.
-
Goro sacrifices himself for reals this time after Ichigo screws up is my prediction.
I only just caught up on this show. This is like the Rem vs Emilia stuff all over again, which was like the Rei vs Asuka stuff.... Edit: I guess at least Ichigo deserves some hate here, but like @shrike_al said when you're young & in love doing stupid shit is pretty much normal
-
I dunno guys.
I get the feeling that Goro sacrificing himself feels kinda stereotypical, and I doubt that's the route the guys at Trigger will take.
...My personal choices would be Rem and Rei BTW.
-
I just hope we get to see Zero Two and Hiro in sync, at full power and go total badass Armageddon.
-
@smashman42 I'm seeing Goro and Ichigo losing sync in the middle of the fight and one of the other Franxx getting demolished as Ichigo watches helplessly.
-
@paul-nebeling yeah I figured thattogether might happen or Goro loses sync. Like I said before I also expect Zero Two and Hiro to not be involved in another fight until maybe after this coming episode or 2. As for Ichigo I’m sure she is going to get rejected badly because she played such a dirty card by kissing him just to stop him from talking to Zero Two. Yeah the episode was kinda sad imo but I don’t think it deserves all the hate it got. People are overreacting. I’m sure this anime will have a sad ending like Hiro or Zero Two dying and just one being left alive. Here’s hoping it has a happy ending tho.

I'd imagine it'll either go the picture book way* where he dies, or she'll die to prevent that.
I'd like a third way where they survive. Overthrowing or just plain abandoning the adults would be good. Wonder if there's another society out there that hasn't gone total dystopia that all the kids could escape to?
(* if I got that right - I literally binged the whole thing last night during a bout of insomnia, meaning I watched the most recent ep at like 3:30am)
-
@shrike_al It is getting pretty ugly. Per ANN "Both tweets have received comments ranging from disappointment in the episode's content to death threats towards the episode's director and writer. Others are posting a doctored image of Zero Two holding a pistol with the subtitle "Say Ahh!" and have threatened to kill the screenwriter's family. Other comments are calling for Fukushima to fire writer Hiroshi Seko or even going so far as to suggest Seko kill himself."
What the hell is going on with our society? Come on people, its just an anime.

Off-topic:
Dropped in the episode 3. In this anime the lew jokes are very boring... -
@g So I've read. I just hope they won't drastically change the script or anything, and everyone involved stays safe. (insert Devilman Crybaby reference here)
@zchronos I think most people agree that the naughty bits were genuine metaphors for relationship issues, but I understand your distaste. It does get better though. It's the most recent Evangelion-like thing we have right now. Story-wise, it's really well done.
-
Death threats and hate mail? It really is the spiritual successor to Evangelion.
-
@shrike_al "It's the most recent Evangelion-like thing we have right now". Well, in my opinion the most Evangelion-like thing is "Fate/Extra Last Encore" (the first episode is really really Eva-poi).
-
@smashman42 Points for binging the entire series. Personally, I think that "saurification" mentioned in episode 14 is going to play a huge part in the story and Zero Two's redemption.
@G While I think Ichigo deserves whatever hell the writers devise for her, there's nothing but praise for the writers and director. It takes skill to generate that kind of instant hate towards a character.
Honestly, I'm less upset over what she did, but really tweaked over where and when she did it. That is, right in front of a guy that told her that he loves her. Zero class there, Ichigo. Your THOT medal will be in your Franxx.
