The Sorcerer's Receptionist missing tag "fully translated"

From what i can tell, the series The Sorcerer's Receptionist is complete and fully translated, but does not have the tag "fully translated" tag like other series, so i thought i may ask / report about it.

I believe there's still more to the series that hasn't been licensed yet, but I'm not sure how that would affect the tags, because it did go under a different title and was sort of billed as a spinoff... you're correct about the ones that actually bore that title though.

That's only a sequel web novel on Syosetu for now. There's nothing "published" that JNC can license.

Kobold King is also not tagged 'fully translated' either, despite the fact second volume came out back in 2019 and nothing since, and only being continued in the webnovel on syosetu(even up to today).
Outbreak Company is probably also complete here without that tag, at least there doesn't seem to be any indication on j-novel's part of getting the side-story volume/Gaiden which came out back in 2018.Neither is Kokoro Connect or Mapping tagged as such despite both being complete.
So the 'fully translated' list here is not complete.

The tag isn't actually necessary, as the publication status "complete" filter exists.
Kokoro Connect and Sorcerer's Receptionist are both on the "complete" list.
Kobold King is stuck permanently in "hiatus" status. Blame the JP publisher.
Outbreak Company is still marked as "ongoing."

Being Published in japan isn't a hard requirement for licencing as it is possible to licence directly from an author. Just look at Cross Infinite World, Their catalogue is pretty much all direct webnovel licences whose first novel release is their English translation.

Unfortunately it's not quite simple like that for JNC. Sam made a post a while ago about why they won't license WNs directly. Can't find it right now though.

I believe the summary came down to this:
"If we start licensing WN's directly, it would put us in direct competition with JP publishers, which would negatively affect our business relationships, and thus our ability to license LN's from them."

It puts us in the position of being not only a localization publisher but also a full-fledge Japanese publisher, responsible for the editing/artwork, and relations with the author. That's not something we have any infrastructure for, and we can't just hire 2 people for a one off project.

It puts us in a position of competing with the publishers we are licensing from. Now, for cancelled series like Gear Drive, it's not necessarily a big deal, but once we have the structure in place, what's to stop us from grabbing the next big narou novel ourselves? What would our publisher partners in Japan think about that when we are competing with them for content?
Not a good place to be.
