JNC title merchandise, or lack thereof
-
Is it just my bad luck, or is there a lack of available merchandise for JNC titles? It sorry of goes without saying that titles that haven't had animes made probably won't have much stuff out there, but it seems like the titles that have had anime made don't have any, or very little, available.
I've checked both Right Stuff Anime and Tokyo Otaku Mode. The only two anime that seem to have anything are Clockwork Planet and Infinite Stratos. Unfortunately, most of it is sold out.
Maybe some stuff will get made for either Master of Ragnarok or Isekai Maou.

At the end of the day it’s all about that ¥.
The manufacturers of merchandise need to think about style, quality, and for most profit, a LN from a smaller seller with no Anime or current Anime prospects won’t garner as much attention cause it will at the end of the day only reach the LN market (mostly).
Other then that everyone outside of Japan gets the short end of the straw regarding Japanese media merch in general, it’s always been something overseas has been lacking nothing new.
For what it is worth when Grimgar anime aired their was a fair about of merch (in Japan) especially for the blu ray releases.

I don't think it's a problem on the manufacturers, they just fulfill orders placed by the company that owns the merchandising rights.
I would suspect that Sam doesn't have the merchandising rights, and even if he did, which territory would he get them in when his licensing scope is basically "the entire planet outside of Japan"?

My 10+ wallscrolls and Yue daki have something to say about how little merch there is. It's not J-NC specific though. I got all mine through proxy services from ordering Arifureta stuff.
-
@aruseus493 Wait. What? You've got Arifureta merchandise?
-
@paul-nebeling Most of it comes with the various retailer exclusive limited editions of the volumes in Japan. There are also their Comiket wallscrolls, their latest Festival Wallscroll which is on its way, and I even have a Yue Dakimakura. I have a small Yue figure, plenty of clear files, some small art-booklets for the manga, an acrylic plate, rubber straps, and bookmarks.

@aruseus493 pics? Hell, not just the Arifureta stuff at that. We should have a merch pics thread like the bookshelf one.

-
Wow. That's pretty damn amazing
-
Not like some authors add merchantise worth stuff into their books. I always thing that Patora Fuyuhara only made Kohaku a chibi form to sell fuure plush toys.
-
@saskir I'd buy one.
Edit to add:
Couldn't find a Kohaku plushie, but did find Yumina figurine. -
@aruseus493 what the... I need some explanations... why is there a huge wall scroll with a grown-up Yue with the manga vol. 2 stuff?? It's for research purposes of course.
-
@paulnamida
Came with one of the Limited Editions of the Volume 2 of the Manga. It's drawn by the mangaka. Also, something to learn is that in Arifureta, breast size has no consistency. I mean, the biggest breasts so far are Shea's from the Manga Volume 3 Wallscroll. And Tio is the one that's supposed to have bigger breasts. -
@aruseus493 Are the wall scrolls in the February picture B2 size? They look smaller than what I was expecting.
-
@tremorc
Yea, they're B2 sized. The perspective might throw you off a bit cause that's a pool table they're sitting on.
