I wonder how far in the story they're going to go

“There’s always a story. It’s all stories, really. The sun coming up every day is a story. Everything’s got a story in it. Change the story, change the world.” ― Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky

That looks so cool! I'm so excited to dive into this anime and find out how our heroine managed to come back as an S-Rank adventurer. Will definitely check this out.

As a mighty warrior and almost adult (17, right?) Ange's constant demands to be picked up are a bit... much. The last instance was justified tho, as the Demon King/shadow child wound is clearly more than just a cut.

Reading Bookworm, Bibliophile, and Dahlia. Also, Girl Genius, xkcd, Witch Hat, Harpy Gee, and Suitor Armor. Looking for suggestions.

The demon king in the latest episode is very confusing:

                1. it looks just like a young Ange but they refer to it as a "he"
                2. they say repeatedly that it is a demon king but first Bel treats it as no threat, then
                3. he is planning to raise it as his child? wtf??

In parallel, Ange takes the other 2 big bads of the season and declares herself their big sister...???

@arghc I think the anime confused a lot of things by using the term "demon king" to describe them in the English translation. I'm pretty sure the novel didn't use that term, but I'm drawing a blank on what the novel did call them at the moment. I do remember it sounding much less weird in the novel.

@pcj The term is Maou, which is technically demon king. That's the standard translation. The problem with using demon king, however, is that there are no actual demons in this work. So they're not a king of anything, and then there's Solomon who is their king.

Maou just means lord of magic/lord of evil. This term was translated to Demon in the LN, since their names are all derived from the 72 demons of the Ars Goetia.

Did Ange just get another shadow contaminated cut, this time on her face? Admittedly, an all out physical and magic attack might make you wobbly on your feet, but...?

The demon king still looks like a baby Ange and is now calling elf-uncle "grandpa"...

At least Byaku seems to be the only one who has not totally lost perspective on Big/Sister stuff with Ange and Char. One would think that Ange would hold a longer grudge against those who sent an army of undead after her dad.
