Audiobooks?

I was wondering. Since some people learn better by hearing things or have a hard time reading, would audiobooks of light novels be possible, of there is enough interest?
"Hey, Mr. "Everything was Better in the 90's"! Your internet speed is so slow that it took you 8 hours to watch 60 Minutes!"

@Dark-Star-Key it was brought up earlier, and by the looks of the original forum topic isn't completely off the table.

@Dark-Star-Key I actually have a tough time staring at a computer screen, so I use a text to speech engine extension in the desktop version of Google Chrome (and if I download an Epub, I use an Android app called E-reader Prestigio).
The British robot voice works for me with most series. It'd be cool to have a more anime inspired voice for the robot though. Someone get on developing that. xD

The idea of audiobooks is nice, when I commuted every day I listened to them constantly.
The problem I had usually was with the narrator. It usually tended to be bland. So bland, listening to talk radio was more entertaining and interesting.
I've listened to some audio books that where more drama tracks then anything, and those where much more enjoyable.
I'd hate to see what went into making them however... Each character had a voice, full Audio FX, musical tracks etc.
What am I reading?

I'm listening to a really bland Japanese Novel Audiobook in English now, Death by Water. 16 hours of a monotone man trying to slowly voice old characters talking about past events over and over again to try and write a novel + play. Doesn't help that the audio is too low on my phone (I don't like headphones). T.T
I did get finished with a single person talking in a more monotone (not so varied at least) voice in Malice, but that I could stand that more since it was shorter and basically a recording of events in a case study on a criminal.

Monotone can be ok, as long as the inflections are correct. I've had one or two where they were terrible. As in nearly non-existent.
Keep in mind, I've only listened to a handful of audiobooks over the years, alot of 'self help' stuff that was more of a seminar setting, but still, when audiobooks push you to seminar stuff, you know its rough.
I listened to a series called "Left Behind" audio drama a few years ago, now THAT was entertaining. You could close your eyes, and nearly imagine it playing out on the TV in front of you.
