Search/Author Tag Downgrade

I don't think this belongs in the app feedback tab since I'm on a pc using a web browser but the recent update seems to have introduced a clear downgrade in searchability. The author, illustrator, and translator entries on a series' page used to be links that would show the other works those individuals have been involved in but not only are they no longer links but it doesn't seem like search even supports searching by things like author name at all anymore. I definitely think this is something that should be brought back. I used it fairly infrequently but when I did, it was very useful.

I noticed this a few weeks ago as well. As a fan of Ascendance of a Bookworm, its always been super helpful to be able to click on the author's name to find the fanbook, spinoff, and manga releases all on one indexed page. Now that its gone, the convenience is now dead, and I don't understand its removal.

I had linked to an author search in a forum post and those also no longer work. So they completely removed the search functionality.

It's a rather weird decision considering that the recent downtime that led to this was stated to be a site upgrade when it clearly has at least one significant downgrade. I'm really not sure why they would even remove that functionality to begin with. I doubt that it caused any significant load on the servers so performance reasons seems unlikely.

@AliceCheshire I do know that the old functionality was flawed and needed replacing. It didn't actually look for authors, just the text string. They've wanted to replace it so that you can actually find the works by the same author when their contracts demand either a reversed name order or different spelling to another work they already have. Like The Magic in this Other World is Too Far Behind! vs The Magician Who Rose From Failure
Also caused problems when someone's penname was a smaller portion of another's name (Black Summoner's illustrator Kurogin vs Haibara's Teenage New Game+'s illustrator Gin).
Unsure why the replacement isn't yet in place, but it did at least need one.
