Kuro no Shoukanshi (Black Summoner)
Losing his memories, the curtains of the story of alternate world transfer of the MC rises. After the transfer his name changes to Kelvin. While steadily levelling, he adds new subordinates by mastering his skill. And by the time he noticed it, he had obtained overwhelming power. Where will our MC be heading off to?
Publisher: Overlap
Status : Ongoing ( 7 volumes)
Manga : Yes
LNDB
NU
Protagonist trades his memories for abilities in order to get an edge on everybody else. He also contracted Goddess that summoned him as his familiar. Year prior main character appearance, goddess summoned 4 heroes to the world in order to fight against the next demon lord, the goddess is disappointed in summoned heroes. Goddess worked for over one thousand years without a break and she got permission from other gods to take a vacation. Apparently she decided to use protagonist for her own convenience while taking a break as his familiar. That, or he fell in love with her and begged her to become his familiar, nobody knows, because main character traded away his memories. She cannot be easily summoned due to absurd mana requirement.
So far the story is interesting enough on its own, it seem to be setting up main character to be at odds with the other heroes in the world, since MC contracted previous demon lord daughter as his familiar. Would love to read the rest :) -
A goddess as a familiar? You got a vote!
I had a quick look at the manga and it does seem interesting. I tried also taking a look at the WN translation, but it was really bad so I just gave up...

Mc looks like Krito from the second arc. Still got my upvote tho.
-
Yes! This would be another great addition!
-
This must not be overlooked.
-
seems an interesting twist on the trope

@hyferzftw Kirito really gets around. I think five years back, it was contractually obligated that he make a cover appearance on at least 60% of all Light Novels published.
-
@the-green-death loving the current arc that’s airing of SAO. Although it seems to be getting a lot of hate.

Let us be honest, his outfit is basically a standard 'chunni' protagonist (or anti-hero) outfit so a lot of characters are going to look similar.
I honestly don't care for the anime. It sucks that they left some of the content out of the LNs, but I can totally see why, hahaha....
What makes me sad though is the whole relationship factor where he keeps collecting more girls like a harem series, but he's already clearly decided on one (and personally, I think he had better options).
That said, I definitely do wonder if we'll ever get this as a JNC title or if anyone will actually license it.
-
Probably needs more upvotes to be even considered a possibility for now. But I don’t have the slightest idea how many upvotes it needs to get Sam to even think about licensing it. But for now I think it’s to low.

Considering that there are titles with like 60 or 80+ votes that haven't and titles with as low as 30+ votes that have...

@hyferzftw I don't think he give to much attention to the number of vote since it only represente the member using the forum which are a minority.
Conserning that title it's from Overlap which give it an edge over book from most other publisher. -
@raitoiro I don’t disagree, but I remember Sam mentioned somewhere before he caters(not sure if that’s the right word) more towards the already members base of JNC than getting new ones (I think this was about advertising jnc website tho). Of course that option might have changed. As for what is licensed it seems he gets for the most what is trending or what he believes will be a good type of trend.

@hyferzftw People have different taste and preferences, I dont quite remember what drawn me to j-novel, but I believe it was my desire to read Arifureta. Considering my personal bias, I will probably never bother reading about 80% of what j-novel has to offer at the moment, they just dont interest me. I am very picky about anime, manga and novels.
I could even go so far as to say I regret picking Grimgar and Magic is too far behind because they turned out to be rather boring. I am picky, but also stubborn, once I start reading something I refuse to drop it.
In the future, I will check out
The Faraway Paladin
Bluesteel Blasphemer
The Unwanted Undead Adventurer
Der Werwolf: The Annals of Veight
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit ChroniclesAnd then of course keep up with Arifureta and Realist Hero. It would be nice to have more stuff to read. And as such, when I find a series that I like due to manga or because of fans translating web novels, I will selfishly push for it to be licensed :P

I have a different issue, though I've found out that I can be conditional. Once I start a series, I am forced to like it. I can't not like a series, though I can dislike a particular version of it. For example, I might hate the translation or anime adaptation, or manga adaptation, or even the original source (I don't think I've managed that yet).
Granted, just because I like something doesn't mean I'll consider it good. Like Naruto, I refused to watch it or read it for the longest time because I hated the fans and felt the series encouraged bad behavior among the fans (I did eventually finish though).
Omega Quintet (game), while I like it and found it had plenty of amazing parts, I don't consider it good.
I also have my preferences and priorities still. I mean, if I had unlimited time and money, I probably wouldn't, but due to limits, I have priorities.

@sinnoaria I’m different as well when it comes to reading different series. I sometimes read the first volume but don’t bother with the second and so on. I do tend to hate anime adaptations of LNs for the most tho. I don’t read manga anymore and haven’t since Tokyo Ghoul Re: ended. That was actually the only manga I read since it came out. Manga died down on me. I like a more detailed story which is why I avoid manga. Not all manga are not detailed tho. As for anime like I said for the most I end up hating anime adaptation of Lns. I prefer anime originals over adaptations tho.

I'm very much an original source (intended source anyways) type of person. I prefer the original source whether it is anime, LN, VN, manga, or w/e. I kind of make an exception for ghibli stuff, but still...

Hi was wondering if there was any word if this title was under possible consideration for licensing. I know its an overlap title which is the largest supplier of j novel club titles.
The Manga is great and the protagonist actually responds to the girls in the Harem which is a rare trait.
I really think this title would make a great addition to the J Novel club line up.
I hope we hear something very soon I really want to read this series.
Plus there have not been many new titles in awhile so it would be great if this one came out.
-
@zing I agree one 100 percent this title fits very well with J Novels Isekai titles plus its an overlap title which is the biggest suppliers of titles so far to J Novel club. Considering they optioned such titles as lazy dungeon master, I Shall Survive Using Potions!, Cooking with Wild Game I don't think it would be a huge stretch for them to acquire this title for release. Here's hoping Sam takes a look at this thread.

@ant13099 Companies can't tell the general public what series they are considering licensing because of NDA's. So we won't know if JNC will get it until it actually happens. (Also we just got 3 new licenses less than a month ago, as well as manga.)
