@sygish What is woman's lit? that is not a actual literary category.
It's just BL, not woman's BL (which would imply there is a man's BL).
would be nice if the app told you a series was BL, yuri, or 18+ instead of finding out after you start reading.I would love to exclude anything with explicit intimate scenes personally. I do not want to read that stuff.

@Aquantis I think maybe they might mean Woman's BL in that the story was specifically designed to cater towards female viewership as opposed to more general audiences? I'm not sure what exactly it's like in the novel space, but in the manga space, there's plenty of series that are categorized as BL that look to cater to more general audiances.
I would agree there needs to be something that lets you filter out by age ratings though. I'm surprised the suggested age rating isn't listed at a minimum in the series info on the app.

@Aquantis I just mean women’s smut stuff as opposed to shojo/romance fluff. Not interested in any BL and the only Yuri I ever consumed was Yuru Yuri anime so, not really lurid stuff.

Is this not what the imprints are? j-novel Heart is shoujo and Jnovel knight is BL?

@Jyuichi those don't show up in the app last I checked, nor does age restrictions.

@Jyuichi yep so filters by imprint would be nice. Instead they added a readers membership mode and removed the catchup filter. So the only filter is “favourited ⭐️” which was already there.

JNC App version 3.2 on iPadOS 26.1
The top right menu drop-down to access the forum and settings menu seems to be designed for mouse clicks. The previous version of the app will keep showing the drop down menu after the first tap. In this new version it will hide it automatically once the finger is lifted. It is quite tricky to tap the drop down and then the forum menu item quickly in order to access it.

Hi, not sure if this will be seen, but my app updated (version 3.3.0) about three days ago I wanted to ask if you put back the star (following) in the series tab. It was removed and I don't like not having a quick access to what I was following like before.

@agome1 scroll up. There's a toggle for that at the top, but it's in the content area and not the header bar now. And the page loads by default with it scrolled off the top.

@agome1 it wasn't exactly discoverable. The only reason I found it was because they listed off some new filter options in the release notes and I couldn't find them so I was looking around everywhere trying to find them.

Please have the app remember the "Follow Only" option. It's irritating having to turn on an option I have use almost all the time whenever I open the app.
If you want people to see newly added series, then just have the app tell us when a new series has been added.

Yeah, I was also caught off guard with this new app version, and thought you just couldn't filter anything any longer. I really don't feel like it's a great design to have a whole bunch of features hidden in an area that the app gives you no indication contains anything by default. My first impression isn't to try dragging all the edges of the screen to see if there are any weirdly hidden features, but rather, "Oh, damn, they removed all the most useful features. That sucks."
At least make it an expandable menu, or put a pull-tab there to give the user a hint that what they're looking for is hidden at the top of the screen.

hello, I got a few suggestions which are largely my personal opinion:
- the app reader could have volume keys controlled page turning, like some others, it is really nice to be able to read hands off the screen.
- I like the way jnovel web groups together series and allows you to buy more. now I am pretty sure that doing that exactly that way would be pointless because the app has a slightly different function which is reading, but the library is a bit messy at the moment to say the least and going back to the series "store page" is more work than I would like (I won't die, but ideally UX wise...).
- I think the library should be a bigger focus rather than chucked into the user tab, it should have its own section at the bottom for example, I use that the most to give quick peeks at stuff I have not worried about downloading on the given device, this may not be true of all but who knows.

@gabrielesilinic if they took suggestions into consideration, they would never have downgraded the app, which now sucks so bad compared to the previous version is making me rethink my subscription.

Trying to read “I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons (Manga) Volume 7 Chapter 2” in the app, trying to turn to the second page causes an “Already Destroyed” message on a blank page to display and turning another page takes me to the end of the chapter. Not sure if this is an app issue or a chapter issue, though…

We can't seem to reproduce this in the app, Chapter 2 loads fully through. IT also work on desktop.
Do you have any extra info, or can you try to switch on/off wifi and cellular?

Similar/same issue with manga on android 3.4.0, if I tap the screen it get the destroyed message but I am able to swipe through the manga if I avoid any screen taps. I've tried removing all data and restarting, but no change nor has complete removal and reinstallation helped.
