Hi... I want to know more about JNC OELN contest. I already have a serial fiction writing in progress. If I had to submit the fiction I should submit only Volume 01 right?
Also... regarding the word count. It exceeds 75K words (Sits around 100K) should I cut some stuff and submit or am I allowed to outline some less important stuff in the middle of story?

@FrenzyWandere I'm not really sure what you mean by outline, but you'll need to get the word count down somehow. Whether that's just removing some scenes outright or using some sort of condensed summary of less important events basically saying stuff happened is largely up to you and what you think works best for your work.

@FrenzyWandere It really depends on what your objective is. If you're just wanting to enter for fun and don't really mind how it turns out, then do whatever is easiest for you, or as much work as you feel like doing.
If you're aiming for a specific result, let's say making it past round 1 or even round 2, then you have to imagine that you'll be competing with entries that were written after the rules were released and meeting all the basic criteria 100%. Let's say there are 500 entries, and only 10% (50) of them were written with the rules in mind, that's still 30-40 other "complete" entries your work has to beat, on top of the 450 others that could still be as good as yours.
So, do you believe outlining to get under the word limit will beat those 450, and then those 30-40 ultra serious entries? I'm not a judge, and I don't know your writing or your work, so I don't know the answer to that. But that's the type of thought process you should consider to determine your own course of action.
