Web reader view window too small
-
I subscribed earlier this week but I've mostly been buying premium credits and reading novels on my Kindle so far.
I decided to check out Infinite Dendrogram on the web reader. It feels way too small.
I'm on a 1920x1080 screen and Chrome reports the containing div as 450x650
It would feel significantly nicer if the footer wasn't given so much prominence and the reading window extended to the bottom of the view.
-
I agree with him. the reader window is too small.
-
The reader is fine on a phone screen but I agree it's fairly small on a PC screen. Perhaps the footer could be made collapsible?
-
I'd suggest zooming in a bit. I always have my browser at 125% and this isn't an issue.
-
I read almost everything on the safari app on my Ipad. I don't like the JNC app is my reason, but that's just me. I never really checked JNC on my pc, it does seem like it would be way to small on the pc monitor.
-
@Michael-Pearson there is the two page mode and zooming in the browser which both work for now, but having the max reader size be more flexible is on my list of things to improve on the website already.
-
@Sam-Pinansky Wait, then it's just me that gets this when zooming in the browser?
-
@Pmf96 Seems like it's a bug when changing pages when you're zoomed in too much. 125% works fine for me but 150% gives that bug.
-
@Paulo27 I had it on 125% though... and even if it's only 110% it also gets a little like that. (not till that extent though)
-
Hm, might depend on monitor size too. I'm on a 1366x768 laptop.
-
I would suggest a full screen mode for reading, and it would be a different experience on mobile, tablet, and desktop views.
- being able to change the styling of the text (font size, font family, font weight, line spacing, etc.).
- a more customized control, rather than just clicking and seeing what the effect does to the page.
- i think it looks weird when the page constantly shifts while the user clicks to resize/change the look of the text.
- being able to toggle contrast, giving accessibility for color blind reader.
- the reading light mode is helpful, but maybe a dark-bg-light-text would be another option that I'm looking for.
- i don't think images would require this, but it would be nice to have one.
- pagination or page numbering, or switching from the current percent-based to a classic page numbering.
- for mobile and tablet, I think a landscape view based on the orientation of the device would be nice.
- Especially when we're viewing wide illustrations or showing the character profiles the publishers/authors add at the beginning of the book.
- being able to change the styling of the text (font size, font family, font weight, line spacing, etc.).
-
Actually, going fullscreen on Chrome lets me use 150% without problems.
-
@Paulo27 Mine is also a 1366x768 laptop. Now, I'm curious in why mine is not working right.
-
I have the same problem on my laptop. So it is not just you.
-
@Hakomari Not sure why, but I find it reassuring that someone else has the same problem than me
-
Maybe you just like seeing others suffer xD
-
@Hakomari Not going to deny it, but neither confirm it
