Upvotes tooltip - list "you" first like fb
-
A very minor, low priority annoyance:
Most often in the licensing thread but sometimes elsewhere, I can't tell whether or not I've already upvoted something because I'm buried somewhere in the "xx others."
One thing facebook gets right is its tooltips for likes, where it lists (you) first, then if there are less than X others it lists them all, else (xx others).
Edit, a couple of good suggestions from others, instead of or in addition to mine:
- Change the up arrow after voting to a light grey or blue so the change is visible by the shade change instead of the color shift.
- After upvoting the meaning of the button changes to removing your vote, so change the symbol to a down arrow or minus sign. (This one would be great for phone and tablet users)

The upvote arrow should appear a different color if you have upvoted already. If not, maybe try a different color scheme?

Huh, learn something new every year :) . Now that you point it out I can see the difference but the change from bold black to dark blue is pretty subtle. Our UX designer would complain if I did that at work for it not being accessible enough. They'd make me increase the contrast at least (switching to a much lighter shade).

Actually, since clicking on the upvote REMOVES your vote if you've already voted, it should change to a down arrow. Or a minus sign.

yeah, this would be a nice small thing to add. I don't really care how it's done, just something to show when you've already upvoted something.
