Thoughts on the new Funimation “levels” of premium memberships?
-
(I’m in the USA)
I’m currently a free/basic user of Funimation. A few titles are up on Hulu ( Cop Craft, Arifureta, Demon Lord Retry)Who has premium membership? Have you seen any benefit of being “grandfathered” to the new premium plus membership?
Thoughts on the “friends and family “ benefits?
Currently Hulu and JNC are the only content services I pay for, but I’m getting tired of commercials. If someone out there in my JNC family would like to consider me a “friend/family” under Funimation’s t’s and c’s - you’d have my gratitude for allowing me to piggyback (anyone interested pm me)

I had Funimation for a while and it always sucked
The iOS app sucked is what I am referring to.
When Funi joined VRV it was good, VRV isn’t exactly God’s gift to man but it was leagues better then Funi app. Needless to say I canceled funi.
After Funi left VRV I signed up again hoping there were improvements...there were not so I just don’t do funi sub anymore.
What Hulu has is enough for me and so far the only show not on Hulu is Hensuki and I will just buy it on Blu-ray when it comes out.

I was grandfathered into the new tiers. My brother technically pays for it, but $60 a year is a decent price for the service, in my opinion. And I get to keep that price, unlike Crunchyroll which is bumping up in price for everyone. I’ve been able to binge DBZ and several other shows in the past 6 months and I like it. I haven’t had too many problems with the app on my iPhone 8, but I usually watch on computer or Roku. I don’t usually follow their simuldubs, but their substantial catalog is very worth it to me.

@jon-mitchell For me the service took a massive nosedive when they launched their new site. I was unable to watch anything on their site for months, and their customer service was an absolute joke. My experience with the apps wasn't any better.
You may be better served upgrading to Hulu's ad-free option, or waiting until the end of the broadcast season, pay for a single month, watch what you want, and then cancel.

I can't seem to ever get anything on their site to play and it frustrates me to no end.

I dont think it is even available in my country, but please, do provide a link to the service in question.

@zing Region Lock sucks, that being said from personal experience you will not have to deal with their frustrating website and apps to actually watch something.

Its fine, I still have my CR membership, which I've been using purely for reading manga recently.
