J-Novel Club and Anime; Any Personal Hopes Out There? (Possible Spoilers for... Really Any of the Stories...)
-
So after seeing the first volume of Arifureta turned into an anime, I decided to take a reread of the series. You know, relive the good days with all the content. Granted the anime did an alright job not leaving out most of the important stuff or spoiling so far (cough Smartphone cough), but I just got to chapter 2 of Volume 2 and remembered why I love this series. The entire chapter is just the most absolute of crazy and hilarious. So thatās why Iām making a new Forum here today;
Which moments in the books translated by J-Novel Club could potentially be the greatest endeavor in animation? Iām not just talking Arifureta or the other few that already have animeās. If thereās even a chance that a moment could be amazing in picture, than I wanna hear it.
Feel free to spoil. Letās be real... who hasnāt read the majority of the series on this sight by now? Newbies? They wouldnāt even bother with the Forum option unless they were anticipating the next series or update, so let loose the lips and let the beans, milk and blood be spilt.

I think realist hero will be quite difficult to animate because the story contains a bunch of songs that will need to be licensed.
-
@zing True. They canāt even really do the whole ātranslating to a made up languageā thing which I have to wonder if it actually is...
But there are lots of groovy moments in that series. For some reason Iām imagining craters made by Aisha before she meets Naden.

Jinrou, the kraken fight. Flying Werewolf. :)

Elf Bride! We need more of Nephy's cuteness š»

@caramelwithoutthesalt Okay, I like all of these suggestions, but this is the ine I like the most...
Then again Nephy is adorable... -
I may be an odd duck, but, I think āwelcome to japan, miss elfā would be a fun anime. Almost equal parts SOL, saccharine romance, and fantasy/RPG adventure
-
JK Haru comes into mind, it might be too explicit but it's interesting to see it animated. Also, gonna be biased here and say Otherside Picnic too, seeing those "things" animated, now that's gonna scare me for sure
-
@zing They could just use original songs or cheaper to license songs.
It doesn't have to be that exact song/reference.
Realist would make a good anime. Vol 4 is a decent place to end an anime adaption.
Infinite Dendrogram was my #1 series that I would love an adaption and that's actually happening.
I would love an adaption of The Different World Magic is Too Far Behind, but there isn't anywhere to end an anime adaption until the end of vol 8 or they come up with an anime original ending.
I'm really surprised they haven't made an adaption of Seirei Gensouki yet seeing as how its one of Hobby Japan's best selling titles, but I think the Western anime viewers will tear it to shreds over how perfect the MC is an how he's the only decent male character in vol 1.
I think My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World could have made a decent anime, but its long been finished so I highly doubt it'll get an adaption.

Comes to mind after getting to chapter 3 of Volume 2 of Arifureta that when Tio comes around, everyone is gonna be comparing her to Kanna. If Elf Bride comes to anime than undoubtedly the campaign for Dragon Waifuās will explode once more.
Also, I now realize that really the entire second volume of this series is going to be nearly impossible to screw up unless they make everyoneās favorite trolling golem girl relatable... -
@village-idiot Just read the last bit of your comment, and while I can see that being a fun anime, I canāt help but cringe at the thought of it as well...
Itās basically One Punch Man by way of KissXSis and Kanon... Fun to think about... woulda been a train wreck with how Reddit was when the light novel was being released. I remember it was around the time that Reddit was having some sorta pediphile issue, but thatās neither here nor there... -

Iāve really gotta learn to keep my trap shut... T_T

I want Netflix to pickup Death Mage and make an awesome anime series out of it.
-
@zing Canāt tell if joking or serious...
-
@oathkeeper95 you know what, on the other hand, it does sound like a pretty terrible idea to pick netflix for this job.

Top of the list: Realist Hero vol.3 epilogue when the previous king explained everything and Souma proposed to Liscia. And the end of vol.3 is a good point to finish an anime season.
Another candidate: Rio's battles and adventures in vol.2 and 3 of Seirei Gensouki. And at the end of vol.3 he decided to go for the revenge, also a good point to stop.
Just a wish: Mixed bath. It's as cringy as smartphone, but hey, who can say that they are not fun and good xD
Another wish: Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf. Every moment is pure gold.
And Elf Bride, Isekai Mahou or Dungeon Master are all okay for adaptation. Nothing special though. -

Honestly, I hate when anime goes off the rails for itās ending just to make a āgoodā stopping point (again smartphone cough cough), but I could see Mixed Bathing possibly being one that benefits from that sorta thing. Especially when the series is honestly kinda weak on the endings side of things, yāknow?
Guess it really depends on whether or not the series will ever be revived. Basically the same argument I feel about Mistaken for a Genius.
-
@oathkeeper95 Well, it's not like Mixed Bathing has ended or anything; there is a vol. 6 ready to be translated, after all. It's just being released very slowly, even in its original web novel form.
Personally, I think Mixed Bathing would make for a fun anime, even beyond the obvious appeal of the bathing scenes. If you ask me, I think vol. 4 would make for a decent stopping point, though adapting 4 volumes in one cour can feel rather rushed; it might be better to just get in three or even just two volumes of good adaptation.
