Figured I just post a couple of things that I think would be nice to have for membership
Read history/bookmarks
A way too see what you’ve read and where you stoped readingNotifactions
When a series your reading gets a new new chapter you get in app/email/text or something else that tells you there is new contentFaves/Saved/Reading list
A way too organize what you’ve read and what you want too read and what you really liked and a way too hide series you don't want too remember/seeDetailed Chapter Listings
Include in tittle of a new chapter the series chapter number as well for example Series volume 2 chapter 2 (C7)/series chapter 7 -
@nin1234 Is your last point for manga? Because light novels often have multiple chapters in a single prepub.
-
@LegitPancake yeah it’s for manga
-
premium feature of the app that unlock with membership? (would require a new /or significantly revamped app or webpage) I think we need a new app/webpage anyway so - yea
pagination that works on my iphone, bookmarks - absolute minimum. but I like your whole list

Faves/Saved/Reading list
A way too organize what you’ve read and what you want too read and what you really liked and a way too hide series you don't want too remember/seeThis would be really nice, but if it were too hard to implement, a wishlist would be nice. That way you can save series that look interesting when you are searching for a new one and don't have to start over each time.

Notification would be so good. Also, i am not reading every series in JNC so, picking what i like and seeing them at the top would be nice.
-
A notification for every parts seems like a lot of emails/text and not tht useful. Especially now when part almost always come out the same day at the time and that the rss feed do it well enough. An email/text when a new vol, a delayed part, or the final epub come come out would be enough.
Something else which would be cool is a version indicator in the library, so that we know if we have download the lastest version of a given book. A notification for new version would be useful.
-
@Raitoiro not email but for the users of the app, could be arrange something like from twitch or youtube? Idk how these things work so excuse my ignorance but could be? At least for the members? If they can make a liked, followed series or something like that, we can get not. for those series?
-
@hopebestman Yeah it would be great to have the option to tag a series as "reading" and have a feed where only parts from those series (and the launching parts for new series maybe) are displayed.
-
@Raitoiro i mean, app literally for reading the series in phones. Nothing more. Honestly, i can do it with my chrome(or whatever others using). For now, the app only convenient for fast access than browser.
-
@hopebestman Sorry I wasn't clear, what I meant when I said add a new feed was add a third category besides "Lastest" and "Series" which would only display part from previously tagged series kinda like the "Subscription" feed in youtube.
Personally I prefer the app to the website, the reader is more ergonomic in my opinion, although the bugs can get a bit annoying.
-
I hate to say it but almost every member has been asking for these things for almost 2 years now as their library grows and it becomes harder to even get to the series you are reading. (If you can remember them all). Basically don’t hold your breath or expect any of these things to actually happen, at least not any time soon.
-
@Talian yeah, when i became member and start usuing the app i was checking the forums. There are many many comments about the samethings but nothing changes. JNC buys many series and their library grows so fast but they dont do anything to their app.
-
@hopebestman the upside is that they are providing us many great series to read that otherwise we would have to wait for the physical copies for! I just buy the completed volumes with my credits and re-read them at that time. I also have a spreed sheet that I use to help me remember where I am in each novel/volume.

I honestly would like a dark mode for the site while reading on here and I'm sure there may be a reason for it but not being able to highlight the text while reading sometimes is a bother for me makes it more difficult to keep track where I am if I need to look away for some reason.. I'm to ADHD i make my own squirrels
-
@JaredSavoie Firefox in dark mode takes care of the first. Makes it much easier on the eyes. Since I'm almost always posting from my phone it does require the Dark Reader add-on.
The lack of copy/ paste is for copyright protection I'm sure.
-
@xdrfiredogx I'm sure that's probably why too as far as the copy and paste maybe add in a highlight feature or something to kinda bookmark the spot.
-
@xdrfiredogx I'll have to try Firefox out I tend to read off my surface
-
Wow, that dark mode is a game-changer. You guys are my heroes.
-
@xdrfiredogx Oh, I didn't know Firefox had a dark mode. I'll have to check it out since I normally read on my laptop. Although I'm trying to (or at least I aspire to) move away from the electronic stuff towards bedtime.
