Altina Sword Princess

Love the good news I saw on translator site that Altina The Sword Princess was licensed.
I get a chuckle out of author’s hit How Not To Summon A Demon Lord and enjoy the inventive environment, a bit heavy on fan service, but it all good natured.
Altina is a favorite of mine and I look forward to its release esp post vol 15. It’s a bit more “realistic,” a bit dark but a rich world with interesting characters.

@gprovida I thought there was only 14 volumes, or am I incorrect in that?

No, you are right, volume 14 came out last September, and the next one hasn't been released yet. And there's only one side story volume so even then it won't get past 15.
Either @gprovida mistook which title this is or mistook the number of volumes.

He looks forward to there being more volumes printed and thereby translated by JNC.

I have some good news: contract is signed and in hand (announcement was approved for AX but the contract was actually in the mail at the time). Should be able to get official materials soon.
(Translation may or may not have already started ;) ) -
Can't wait to start reading this.
-
Awesome. Of the new releases, this is the one I'm looking forward to most.
I adore this series, and look forward to it translated by JNC.

Can't wait to re-read this.

So is Altina less fanservice and less comedy than How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord?
-
@chi-c yes.
I don't recall any fanservice.
-
@chi-c It does still have comedy and light-heartedness, but it's not what you'd call "hijinks" the way How NOT to Summon does it, and they're also constantly going to battle or at war with someone or another. And there's no magic (that I recall? at least not like "single person wipes out army" magic), so it's very much grounded war.
-
There's magic.
But it's very much personal and not casting spells.
Altina is a five foot nothing girl who can wield a six foot block of iron like it's nothing, her brother has super speed, and so on. There seem to be inherent blessings in the royal line and possibly a few other people.

Is there a chance for this series to get a print edition?
-
@Yukino2002 Depends on sales, really.
-
@Roy-Nukia So, if the ebooks sell well, its got a chance? Could you tell me how it has been faring lately?
-
@Yukino2002 J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on sales.
-
@Rahul-Balaggan Oh, I'm really sorry. Didn't know that.
-
@Yukino2002 You can try looking at Amazon's ranking and figure out where the series is compared to others that got printed already. Not the best accurate way to check it but should give you an idea nonetheless.
-
@Terabyte Thanks! Didn't think of that, will try it out next time :)
