Buying premium credits w/o membership

First of all, hello to everyone.
This is a topic alredy discussed or at least partialy discussed. And one question in the survey brings the topic too.
I can't read anything other than in an ereader or a physical book (and over time, less in the later). That renders membership pointless for me.
Stated that, rather than buying ebooks on famous online stores, I prefer buying directly from j-novel club.
Given this model, I can buy membership a couple of times a year, like a fee for premium store access, for a bulk purchase, but given the choice I would like to buy at my own pace.
So, what do you think?

So, are you saying you don't, or won't have a computer, laptop, desktop, or smart phone that's able to download the premium file from j-novel?
I do this all the time. Download with iPad to Dropbox, then load it into my chosen reader.
Same can be done on android phones.
Btw, Dropbox is just a safe place for me to keep the file for future use. iOS allows me to "open with". I imagine android devices do much the same.

Oh, sorry for the confusion.
What I meant was that I don't like to read on a regular screen (computer, tablet, phone), I only read from paper or from an ereader. That's why I don't need a membership, I only want to buy epubs to fill my Kobo.

@coneone I’m somewhat the same (though I will read first volumes streaming) but the membership ends up being pretty much worth it if you buy 3 a month, the discount on the books and the credit end up making a premium edition cost about what a regular one does at Amazon so if you think you’ll buy around three a month it’s worth it even if you don’t stream.

Other than the savings if you buy heaps of ebooks/the extra stuff in the premium versions (I love the extra short stories), the early release parts available for a new series to members are a way better way to sample it & find out if you want to buy the ebooks than just the first chunk preview on this site or Amazon. (so yeah, basically agree with the green death)
I'm sure I read somewhere that premium credits don't expire if your account runs out, so you might be able to (in theory) just buy a month's membership (normal or premium) then buy the $6/$7 credits and buy a whole heap of premium ebooks, then let the membership lapse till you next want to buy a stack of ebooks.
The membership model might be a restriction to keep the big companies in Japan happy with the no DRM thing - they aren't for sale on the open internet to everyone unless you subscribe, so they are a little less worried about them getting distributed (maybe?)

I've yet enough "paper" to read, but I'm thinking in the same line as @the-green-death and @coneone when I start with J-Novel Club - probably next year - to just get Premium for one month and buy lots of premium ebooks at once, then repeat when needed.
The App is not an option atm as I'd like to read on an e-book reader and there's not always Internet available on my trips to work. :-(
I don't want to buy elsewhere because of the DRM :poop: and it's cheaper buying here (if bulk) and nonetheless supports this project more I guess. :-)Buying premium credits without membership might be interesting depending on the costs. The biggest advantage would of course be the flexibility. I'm looking forward to what the survey tells us here.

This is correct. I was using this trick personally. During free trial periods, I would stock up on credits and then when a volume came out with bonus content I wanted (short stories), I would redeem the credit through a URL trick. They don't link you to the Premium Credit redemption on the volume pages when you're not a member last I checked. But there is a trick to getting to them so you can use your credits.
Each Premium Credit Redemption URL starts with:
After the "=" sign, you just affix the volume page's URL starting from the title of the series.
So for something like UchiMusume volume 3 which comes out on the 25th, the Premium Credit Redemption URL will be:

I'm the complete opposite I can't read actual paper books, I fall asleep. No matter how good the story is I hate flipping pages and like I said before I end up falling asleep.

@aruseus493 With this method (probably not intended), I assume you can download bought epubs without membership, thats right?
I'm thinking of subscribing for one month in premium (5$ plus 6$ of one credit), and get for say 10 credits. That would be 6,45$ for each credit which is a fair price.
I'll do that next month.

Premium credits are $7 for normal members.
If it's really about maximizing your deal: Get premium membership for $12 on the 14th of a month, then you get 1 credit right away and one on the 15th and any additional ones would be $6

@anpan Yeah, I mean, 11$ for premium plus 10 credits for 6$ = 71$, and 71$ / 11 credits = 6.45$ / credit. So I'll go with that.
