Sentai Filmworks... Catch up topic?
-
Sentai Filmworks had a sale during Halloween on anime... Invaders of the Rokuojouma DVD was 12.99.
I was thinking of getting that and maybe Demon King Daimao so I can catch up with the anime and then jump in to the spot where the stories diverge / the anime ends.
Outbreak Company DVD was also on sale.
Edit: Most of these are in my statewide library systems besides Demon King Daimao, Kurenai, Watamote, and Place to Place. Watamote manga are in the system.

@terrence I tried watching the anime but I couldn't :( . I think I grew extremely picky when it comes to anime. For example Grimgar I sorta like the anime but knew it can't compare to the LN and same for Overlord. In the case of Overlord was it had such awesome animation of course since it's made by mad house but it couldn't compare to the LN. I love Mad House. So what I do now is watch the anime first before reading LNs.

@terrence is it worth watching? Cuz I'd love to add another LN to my weekly waiting list.

Outbreak Company? The anime is pretty well animated and voiced. The story is fun, like Big Sis Lives in a Fantasy World in that it incorporates manga and anime quotes / titles into conversations.
Overall, fairly light-hearted so far, though with some political stuff (like ending segregation of races and such). There's a lot of women in this with hots for the MC, so if that's a problem, steer clear. There's clearly a best girl though.
Overall, it seems pretty fun. Not expecting anything too crazy in terms of relationships or character development, but just a good series to chill with at the end of the day. I also like that the MC and his fellow Earthly cooperator are teachers, even if what they teach isn't exactly educational (female companion wants to teach BL tropes, and the other is too hung up on dating sims). xD

So I made it through Outbreak Company. The ending didn't leave me feeling very good. Hopefully the LN will, and wraps up the romantic stuff.
I hope Minori gets a BF who gets rid of her stalkers too. xD
On to "Invaders of the Rokoujyouma". Watched the first episode.
So we got a multiple girls fighting over something plot with
? Ok. I think I heard this will take a turn, so I'll watch out for that.
I guess I'm rooting for the apartment owner to win the guy at this point. Her, Mahou Shoujo cosplayer, and the subterranean are my favs so far.
Gotta learn all these names. Toughest part of anime / manga / LN reading. xC
On to Yurika's arc (4th to last episode). I gotta say, I hate how she's treated in this show. And it's really annoying that the character development in her arc
. =[

@terrence I was rooting for subterranean too XD .

Subterranean, Mahou Shoujo, and Knitting Society member are now my favs. xP
Is the last episode anime original? I'd like to know if I can skip and jump to the novels (Novel 6? Novel 7?).

The last episode "adapts" the first half of volume 7, although I'd say it was quite edited.
I was going through the second half of the volume when I noticed that I didn't remember any of it, then rewatching the episode just to confirm.

Regarding Yurika... (slight characterization spoilers for book volumes after the Yurika volume)

Ok. I think I'll skip the episode then, and start volume 7.

@Terrence
Just an advice but you should start from volume 1 because there is a lot of differences from the novel and also some missing scenes not shown in the anime.The anime tried to cover 7 volumes of content so you can just imagine how much is missing and were edited to fit in a 12 episode anime. Episodes 1 and 12 basically covered the whole of volumes 1 and 7 respectively and the rest were 2 episodes per volume.
