Just some thoughts on the app and how you could improve it more:

      1. Night read mode (black background and white font)
      2. Read where you left off is nice, but a progress bar and % of read on the book titles in the menu and being able to change your progress bar with a slider would make navigating much faster if you ever want to re-read stuff.
      3. Customization. Can we get the ability to customize the color of the bar in the app and maybe add a background wallpaper or color and background music that plays when we read? (I mean sure we can always use a music app in the back, but I was thinking more in line of when we close the app the music stops too, or we can make playlist for certain novels and share it with others. (eg. Use Grimgar bgm and sound track for Grimgar Novel and music changes according to which section of the novel you are on xD)

Also the menu is kind of laggy.

You can modify font size in the app already. Click the drop-down menu at the top of the screen, and the options should appear. They do in iOS anyway.

Book tracking would be convenient, marking specific titles as favorites and having indicators of which parts have been read.

The thing I want most is a horizontal view on iPad, with two columns of text.

I would also like the ability to scroll quickly between pages with a scroll bar. Scroll bar could appear only when the page is tapped on, similar to how iBooks does it.

try to make book choices looks like a cupboard which contain of books in it. and if possible link to go to forum or forum is connected to the app. so user can go to forum and enjoy it just by using the app.

@erictbar Right now the app doesn't look so good on large format screens like ipad pro or 9+ inch tablets.

Definitely something I want to work on as I keep improving it.

Seek bar/bookshelves, ability to sign up in app for Andoid... lots of things to do indeed.

@Karsin A bookmark or follow system is the feature I'd most like to see implemented right now, too.

This isn't a must need, but in the future it would be nice to have a "Continue Reading" section. Where it shows the last 4 novels or so you've been reading and when you click on it it brings you to the place you stopped reading.

Also another thing that could be added is (also in the continue reading area) a little section where new chapters are put (if you've caught up with the series and are waiting for the next chapter).

Last thing, a "Try Again" section (still in the continue reading area) where novels which you haven't touched for a month or so go. Books that would be there are most likely ones which you've lost interest in or whatever the reason. There could be an "x" for no, I don't want to read this series anymore; or a "checkmark" (pretend that's a checkmark) meaning, sure, I'll give this series another chance. Hence "try again".

I don't know it's possible, but being able to download novel chapters for offline reading would be great

Text to speech support could be nice. I don't know how difficult that is to implement though.

This may be already present and I'm unable to find it, but it the app should be able to access your library. I just purchased one of the books and in my library within the web interface, but I can't find a way to download it through the app.

@Karsin When you purchase an ebook you can't read it on J-novel. You need to read it on iBooks, Kindle or whatever you use to read ebooks.

I think what Karsin was asking for was the ability to download the epub file straight to a mobile device instead of first downloading it on a desktop and then copying it over to your mobile device.

I'm pretty sure that's easy enough on android, but not sure about whether I could add an ebook file to ibooks on an iOS device programatically.

For now, you'll need to download the epub file through the web interface and copy it onto your mobile device in the usual way.

@Karsin And a second point: Our app is not a fully compliant epub 3 reader, and it will never be. There's no reason to re-invent the wheel on that, as there are plenty of apps which are great epub readers already out there or built into the OS of mobile devices.
Our app is really designed as a way to read the weekly streaming prepub releases on mobile, and not as a fully functional epub reader.

It would be nice if the chapters showed up in order, instead of being all over the place. It's not super important, but it would make it look a little better.

@Rufusking1 Well, if you go to series, that display will show the parts just for that one series and it can be easier to find earlier parts in order.

The main list is in release order date.

In the new version that's coming I also push the free preview parts up to the top of that list if you aren't logged in or a subscriber.
