Bungo Stray Dogs has an English-language readership for the manga and the light novels, but most of the character goods are made for Japanese shops, events and online lotteries and only reach overseas fans through resale. Searching the Japanese marketplaces works much better once you know how the listings are worded, so here is a format-by-format reading guide put together by the OneMall team.

Search terms that do the heavy lifting

Japanese listings use only 文豪ストレイドッグス, not the romanised title. Narrow by character (太宰治 Dazai, 中原中也 Chuuya, 中島敦 Atsushi, 芥川龍之介 Akutagawa) or by format (ねんどろいど Nendoroid, アクリルスタンド acrylic stand, ぬいぐるみ plush, くじ lottery prizes). 新品未開封 means new and sealed, 中古 means used, and 箱無し means the item comes without its box.

What the formats look like in a 470-listing snapshot

On 11 September 2026 we sampled 470 live listings across Amazon Japan, Mercari, Rakuten, Suruga-ya, Yahoo Auctions and Yahoo Fleamarket. The median asking price across everything was ¥2,197. By format:

      • Acrylic stands: median ¥1,099 (129 listings). This is the volume format, and the place to look for the supporting cast, the Guild and the Decay of Angels.
      • Capsule toys and keychains: median ¥1,200 (66 listings), often sold as complete sets (全種セット).
      • Plush, including the Tapinui (たぴぬい) palm plush: median ¥2,888 (78 listings). This is also where Fyodor and Nikolai actually exist in numbers.
      • Kuji prizes: median ¥3,819 (11 listings). Prize letters (A賞, B賞) tell you the rarity within a set.
      • Scale and prize figures: median ¥5,500 (78 listings). Prize figures sold 箱無し are fine for display but weaker for resale.
      • Nendoroid: median ¥8,800 (81 listings).

By character, Dazai (200 listings, median ¥2,476) and Chuuya (138 listings, median ¥2,530) make up most of the market. Atsushi and Akutagawa sit around ¥1,500. These are asking prices from one dated snapshot, so treat them as a reading aid rather than a price guide.

Two traps in the price ranges

The plush and kuji ranges in that sample run up to ¥259,000, but that ceiling comes from bulk collection lots (まとめ売り), not single items. Check the item count in the photos before comparing prices. Also expect light-novel-era goods (the Fifteen and Storm Bringer stories, BEAST) to turn up in small runs rather than steady supply.

      Before paying

Licensed goods normally carry the licensor line ©朝霧カフカ・春河35/KADOKAWA/文豪ストレイドッグス製作委員会 on the tag or box. Plush described only in generic gift-shop phrasing with no maker name deserve a closer look against a tagged listing. That is a reading check, not a guarantee; condition and licensing can only be judged from the seller's photos and description.

The full write-up, with per-character tables and the product-line notes, is here: Bungo Stray Dogs merch from Japan. Disclosure: the OneMall team wrote that guide, and OneMall is a Japan proxy-shopping service, so treat it as a commercial source.

Which format do you collect for BSD: acrylics, plush, or figures?
