Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan
In a time and place where one’s soul can be morphed into a weapon, there are modern-day magicians called Mage-Knights. Although Kurogane Ikki is a student at an institution that trains Mage-Knights, he has no particular talent in magic and is labeled the “Failure Knight” or “Worst One.” Getting way less than average marks in the scorings, he was forced to repeat a year. But with the arrival of a new head of the institution, a new rule was created: knights whose abilities are compatible, as decided by the board, must share rooms and attend practice and training together throughout their school years to bring up their abilities to the max. It is a rule to implement the absolute verdict of ability.
Ikki’s roommate, Stella Vermillion, turns out to be a princess of another foreign country. Stella is a Rank A knight: the type of genius in magic who only appears once a decade. When Ikki walked in on her while she was changing her clothes, it caused a huge misunderstanding, which eventually ended up in a duel between the two of them. The punishment for the losing side is Eternal Submission to the winning side.
Forced to live the same room and practice magic together throughout all their school years, how will Stella and Ikki’s relationship evolve?
This series has a really good romance and fanservice is also for the characters. The action and Battles are really good and there are some emotional and physical stakes. The 1V1 battles are really awesome, and the fanservice part is really well done as said before the fanservice is also for the characters too. This series can also Rival Asterisk War and is overall better than it too (still do not know why that one was licensed when this series was airing at the same time and better)

The anime was actually pretty good. I’d also like this LN to be licensed, since the original source is always better in most cases.

The anime made changes to make it better than the LN.
The LN gets cringy at times.
I personally liked Asterisk better. The story/characters are all better.

@village-idiot what kind of changes and what were the Cringy moments? if the Cringy moments were some Romance moments then I would not care. I was spoiled on a joke that happens in this series that is pretty funny and tells us something about the characters, this makes me want to read the series.

@village-idiot I do not see anything wrong with that. this is a Romance between two Teenagers. People, especially Teenagers, are Horny; It would be weird if two lovers (especially teenage lovers) did not have some horny moments with each other. When it comes to the Romance, I am fine with it, in fact, I think it is better than most teenage romances (maybe not the best of the best but better than most). I also think they did have that moment in the anime.

I like this one too. It has interesting characters, a fun romance and some suitably dastardly villains.

Yeah. Sadly, I hear that the publisher does not like Digital Only, so we're unlikely to get it unless their stance changes.
But I can keep hoping.

I absolutely love Chivalry. I do agree that there are some very cringey moments (there is the occasional sexual harassment comedy and this gets VERY bad at a certain point in volume 4), but on the whole I find it actually refreshingly positive about the topic of maintaining relationships, dealing with sex and even kink! The vast majority of sexual shenanigans are entirely believable because not only are Ikki and Stella horny teens, but their respective upbringings haven't really left them with a very good education on the matter. There is an incredible payoff to this when Stella figures herself out a bit, though.
As for the abstinence thing:
EDIT: Also, while the anime did tighten up a few things here and there, it also added its own cringey fanservice, like "OH NO I DROPPED MY TOWEL", or turning the bathing scene in episode 2, which was originally kind of a sad scene and an early indicator of Stella's warped view on sexuality, into a really stupid scene where her bikini top falls off for literally no reason and it's somehow Ikki's fault.

The anime for this series has been on my "To watch" list for ages, so the books? Hell yeah!

Please, please, please license this light novel series. I loved the anime and what I know about the light novel thus far has been great as well. It would be a nice addition to some of the good titles that J-Novel offers already. I know at least 5 other people that would sign up for a membership were it to get licensed (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who knows someone, lol). So here's to hoping that this get licensed soon!

I really liked the anime of this one and started reading the fan translations of the LN. Unfortunately, like most fan translated LNs, the translation and editing is kinda rough :/
I'd really like to continue the story tho and see Stella and Ikei's relationship grow :)
