It takes place in Japan, but there are portals to video game like dungeons where people quest to gain resources they can take back to sell in the human world. We're kind of mixing office based work comedy with Monster Hunter. The characters are all adults too (26 and 28 respectively for the lead woman and man iirc). Basically, it feels like a good mix of something fantasy action fans can enjoy, while also having some light real world character stuff to it.
The Basics:
Sometime before the novel begins, an office worker named Makino was approached by his lovely looking, but serious boss, Kuroki, about helping her hunt in the dungeon on their off-night (Wednesday Nights). Makino, being a retired dungeon hunter, agrees, but only on the condition that once the boss is capable of fending for herself in the dungeon, he will no longer dungeon hunt. Thus begins their set of short adventures in the dungeon.
How Ecchi is This?
The first volume wasn't that bad actually. There was one grabby scene played for laughs (it's actually a female shop owner that wanted to take measurements of our heroine for crafting her armor). Outside of that, it's pretty tame stuff. Future inserts do suggest there may be further Ecchi escapades in the vein of that interaction with the storekeeper (I think I saw a scene set at an Onsen for volume 2).

What Kind of Monsters Are They Hunting?
There's a decent range, though a lot of them are pretty typical (Slimes, wolves). The fights do get pretty tactical, because these creatures, while sometimes resembling real life animals, do exhibit traits that are original to them. Like, there's the Blood Wolf who
Does The Boss Hold Her Own, Or Is She A Damsel?
The boss wants to be strong. She just doesn't know a lot about dungeon hunting. She's basically like a noob playing Monster Hunter for the first time; she picks the biggest weapon she can get, this humongous great sword, but she's probably not capable of attacking anything with it at first. She does mess up a lot, but again, this is kind of a story about her growth. She has a few moments to shine, but she's still learning, and she's got a good teacher (and in the office, there's the role reversal where she has to be giving the tough lessons). =]
Is Our Male Character Interesting or Dull?
I think he's fairly intriguing. He has a backstory you'll learn about as you go. In fact, I think we learn more about his dungeon hunting reasons than Kuroki's.
Is There A Hook (besides the office work and the dungeons in Japan) or Overarching Plot?
Yes and yes. The hook develops pretty late into the book though. This is the aspect that is the overarching plot; before the hook, each chapter basically focuses on a different dungeon hunts; feels like individual anime episodes, like Konosuba chapters. Don't expect enemies with personalities or anything, we're dealing with mindless beasts. It's Monster Hunter. We do have some character development stuff going on between Makino, his boss, and other characters drawn into the plot.
Publisher?
Kadokawa. It's a Novel 0 label work. This label I don't believe has anything out stateside yet.
How Many Volumes?
There are 3. It's unclear if it's ongoing or no, but the last one released pretty recently. This is actually one of Novel 0's longest running series; most of their stuff is 1 to 2 volumes. So I'd say it's probably been decently successful.

I didn't even get into a lot of the aspects I vaguely remember (there's a magic type mechanic; from what I recall, every person in the world has an innate skill they discover when they travel into the dungeon for the first time; for our hero, his skill is his balls... of light; it's mainly a monster detection skill that allows him to know the type and number of monsters on a dungeon floor), and obviously spoiler stuff. =]

My next plan is to take some time to machine translate read through either a Kodansha romance work or some Syosetu stuff that has light novel publications (hopefully some Overlap ones), and then return here. I'm thinking maybe the one where the girl is reincarnated as a killer whale? Or maybe the one with the hero for hire that just came out? Or maybe... xD

Kadokawa is still a no-go for licensing (their subsidiary Yen Press gets what they want, nobody else gets anything), although Sam has hinted about some possibilities with Kadokawa that he might reveal at AX...

Yup. Limits the publishers who could potentially get it as of now. =(
It'll be interesting to see what companies Kadokawa licenses to this year. This AX will be the first where I'm really trying to pay attention to the parent company and labels to see what's viable relationship wise in the future. Can SB Creative and GaGaGa Bunko have a Harem with Seven Seas? Will One Peace Books continue its affair with Media Factory? =P

Now that KADOKAWA is not impossible I will be throwing my support in for this series, it seems like something I would really enjoy.
As of right now JNC has no office lady LNs and that is a glaring omission that can not be ignored.
Additionally since Novel 0 brand is new JNC could make a lot of impact to be the first publisher to bring over one of their titles. -

It could be fun or creepy depending on how it's presented, but it looks like it is about a daughter that attaches herself to unhealthily fulfilling her dead mother's role while at the same time keeping her Dad from dating other women.
Enter one of his co-workers who has a crush (brunette on the image above). She's going to use a few excuses to get him to go out with her (claims she has a "stalker", so the main character agrees to go on a fake date with her as protection). There's an image I saw Novel Zero post of the daughter and this "homewrecker" glaring daggers at each other before the entrance to his apartment, ha ha.
This is #2 in the Weekly Literature Ranking on Bookwalker this week.

The series is on sale on Bookwalker (340 JPY for volume 1), and there's a coin up promo going on, so it's really cheap. It's showing 203 JPY back on volume 1 with coin up, so the effective cost is 137 JPY. xD

I wanted to bump this after talking with @BloodyGaikotsu just to mention I did post a video review for this one if that is more anybody's pace for impressions.
I don't want to oversell this one of course. It is very much "monster of the week" in terms of each chapter being a new quest. But it does have some mature stuff, like Makino being new to the adult working world, giving up his dungeon hunting for an office job for reasons we'll discover, but he's being dragged back into the hunt begrudgingly by his boss (whom he will only conditionally help until she learns the basics and "levels" up, and then he'll leave her to her own devices in the dungeon). It's still very much a "light novel plot with adults" though.
I mention in the video review it doesn't really have any romance so far, but it probably will be coming. About the only Romance laden aspect in volume 1 was Makino's younger friend (whose father runs the dungeon) getting jealous about him going dungeon hunting with his boss, Kuroki.
I forget if I mentioned some of the ability set stuff. Characters are innately born with certain skills. For instance, Makino's skills are mostly analysis. He can send orbs out to search the dungeon for monsters and come up with plans based on the data. I believe the boss doesn't start with a skill; forget how they explain discovery of your skill, if it's a leveling element or what.
