@terrence Kokomo Connect! Kadokawa!
-
Amagi Brilliant Park!!
-
Super fun panel, Sam and Aimee were great!
-
@the-green-death I don't know about Kokomo Connect but I'm extremely happy about Kokoro Connect!
-
I don't know most of these titles, but I am /over the moon/ for Amagi Brilliant Park. I am so happy for that one. :)
-
Since you guys are partnering with Kadokawa now... Hopefully Saekano sometime soon?!
-
@eternal-wanderer this is what happens when I try to post and watch panel at the same time! :P
-
@bryan YP already has the manga don't they? I would image they have priority if they want the LN...
Anyways, really happy about the Kadokawa partnership, hopefully more from Fujimi Shobo is coming!
-
@blueshift except the manga and anime both ended at the same place and still no hint of the LN license by Yen
-
I heard Viz conference was a bust (just one new license?).
Ah well. Kodansha / Vertical the next up to dash hopes I think, lol.
-
Fingers crossed for Okitegami Kyouko!
-
My fingers are crossed for Grancrest Senki.
-
I'm really happy with almost all of the announcements - but the two biggies for me, one happy one worried.
1st have to be prints ... Oh yes, definitely buying smartphone... For the 3rd time (Kindle, premium and finally print)
But the one that has me worried for the future is the manga announcement... Considering that we've had various attempts at this in the past, with crunchy roll currently in a weird state where I can only see it failing. I do wish JNC all the best of luck with this endeavour, because I think they will need it.
There was a silent announcement as well with this: JNC has gained heavyweight publishing status that other big publishers are taking notice! Congrats JNC!
And finally, my thought on all these new releases: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
@fozzedout If they focus on manga of LNs they are already translating I think it will be fine. A big part of the translation work is already done there after all.

I wish I could agree, but manga, and well any comic format tend to streamline the text for fitting in the speech bubbles, so it would need retranslating as well as then streamlining to retro fit. It's not easy at times.
-
@fozzedout Crunchyroll isn't even trying with manga. They don't seem to get new publishers, and the reader and app suck. Can't imagine JNC's manga endeavor being that mismanaged.

I couldn't believe they removed ReLife (and a few other series I was somewhat interested in). If I want to read legitimate copies of some of their licenses they dropped, there's no way to do so, right? =[
-
@terrence Yeah ReLife is one of my favorites and I wish I could buy the volumes... They lost everything from that publisher I believe.
-
The only benefit of the method that JNC use is that if you pick up anything at the start, you don't have to go anywhere else to then read the rest of the published works. This is where crunchy roll fall currently. No chance of catch up, no purchasing to unlock the published chapters. Whereas JNC already have the systems in place, simply because they are not just translators - they are also publishers.
In this regard, I am hopeful - this can work.My nervousness is more from history, where other companies tried to do this venture and failed.
Still Sam started with a lot of concern over the longevity of JNC, and here we still are: In Sam We Trust!

So happy to see that Kokoro Connect and Amagi Brilliant Park are licensed! Especially Kokoro Connect, as I've been wanting it since I watched the anime. Also super excited about J-Novel Club publishing physical books. I read digital books here and there, but I mostly like to read physical. I'll definitely pick up Smartphone when it releases. It's been one I've been meaning to check out anyway. ^_^
