I'm very interested in this one, so seconded. The first cover is so cool.
I hear it's really dark, and it sounds like the people who read it really enjoyed it (they say the art doesn't quite keep up with the tone of the books though, which you can see in the cover images outside of the first cover).
If I get through my first crop of series I've been getting on Bookwalker (Zoa Hunter, Attacking Dungeon with My Beautiful Boss Is Overtime Work, Sakurako-san Investigation), this'll be on my list.
I'm definitely looking for stuff that's dark or stuff that has unpredictable romantic pairings. A lot of LNs telegraph who the two leads are (or it's just "everybody marries the MC" wackiness).

@terrence Sakurako-san as in the mystery one about the anthropologist that loves corpses?? I loved the anime for that one and been waiting for someone to pick up the novels.

Yeah, I picked up some of the Japanese novels since they were on discount. Dunno how they'll read with machine translation since they're mystery, but I'll give it a go.
I'm still waiting on someone (Yen Press or Bookwalker) to license. Bookwalker Global knows I want it (they responded to my Tweet about requesting it saying it was a good series). xP
Just a friendly reminder that the best way to get those Kadokawa series in English is to request them from Bookwalker here:

Bookwalker Global is free to sign up. It's just a regular online storefront, no service fees or anything. There may be some services you can subscribe to on the JP store for coins and such, but I don't think you even need to enter any card info to sign up for a basic account, and it works on both global and JP stores (the only way to buy things on Bookwalker if you're a member from outside Japan is PayPal anyways). =]
-
@terrence credit cards work on the Japan side too, mine does anyway. In fact, three are some things you can't but with Paypal for some reason (e.g. books with digital bonuses), although you can get around that also by buying coins through PayPal and using that instead.

Probably depends on the card / whether your bank allows international purchases without flagging the card.
There's some stuff that they don't allow you to buy outside of Japan too.
I have also run into the "book can be placed in cart, but can't be paid for with PayPal" issue with a lot of Kodansha stuff unfortunately (I really wanted to try that "My Childhood Friend Became An Alien" book).
-
Buying coins in bulk gets around that (or use free coins awarded from buying stuff you can buy with PayPal).

Ooh, that's a good idea.
There's still some stuff you can't even put in the cart though. Gotta "go to Japan" for those. =[
Another tip; use the "Conclusion / Completed" tag to look for series that are finished. If you don't know which tag that is, use Google Translate. When in the "light novel for guys" tab, should be the second tag on the desktop site under genre. I believe that completed also means "cancelled", so be careful when choosing stuff from there.
I'd assume Death Need Round got cancelled? It's very short at 3 volumes. Dunno if that's in the completed tab, but it hasn't updated since 2015.

how about taking grancrest senki, from the maker of record of lodoss war?
-
I'll throw in a request for Ore to Ichino no Game Doukoukai Katsudou Nisshi. Not much about it online but it seems like a fun read and is already complete I think.
-
@white-cloud - Totally love to see Grancreszt Senki. Just from the first episode of the anime, I'd be interested in seeing the source material (and always prefer LNs over anime any day, but love anime all the same. >_<).
-
Pretty much the only LN I'd love to see translated is Alderamin on the Sky. Unfortunately the original publisher doesn't seem to be interested in having it licenced :/

I would suggest Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami (公爵令嬢の嗜み) by Reia (澪亜).
Premise, as stolen from NovelUpdates, is:
I was reincarnated as the villain character of an otome game, the daughter of a Duke. However, when I regained my memory, I had already reached my “ending.” My engagement had been canceled and if things go according to its “course,” it was set that I will be imprisoned by the church. Where is my bright future?
It's an Isekai genre title but has political intrigue, economics, and romance. This would probably go well with the currently J-Novel Club licensed title "Walking My Second Path in Life." It also seems to be ending at 5 volumes which makes it manageable, I think.
Another title I would suggest is Haken no Kouki Altina (覇剣の皇姫アルティーナ) by Yukiya Murasaki (むらさきゆきや). Same author who wrote How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord, funnily enough, that is currently licensed by J-Novel Club.
Premise, again stolen from NovelUpdates, is:
Regis, an incapable soldier, who is bad at both sword and archery that only reads books. He meets a girl at the remote region where he was transferred to. Red hair crimson eyes princess Altina who wields the supreme ruler’s sword. She was appointed to become the commander of the army of the remote region despite being fourteen years old, simply for being the illegitimate child of the Emperor. However, she is holding onto her big dream without being depressed in the environment she is in. “I trust you”. Regis who was sought from her as a tactician stands up to the obstacles together with her. The military fantasy interweaved by the bibliophagic boy and the princess with the supreme ruler’s sword.
Like a few others have suggested, Grancrest Senki looks good as well since it's by the same author as Record of Lodoss, which was amazing. Or maybe even Madan no Ou to Vanadis and similarly, Alderamin on the Sky?

@enternal Seven Seas licensed the manga adaptation of Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami. So J-NC should definitely start grabbing LNs which Seven Seas publish the manga for.
