Kujonin (Exterminator)

@theredjet Yeah, I don't quite recall either. I took at a look at the first fan-translated chapter but there is no age mentioned there so I gave up checking lol
-
@theredjet so Does the mc act mature?
-
@hyferzftw Yep, he does act Mature/Responsible
-
@theredjet that’s a win.

I like the manga quite a bit. He's was an exterminator on Earth, so what do you think he does when he gets isekai'd? Keeps working as an exterminator. And not in the "I'm an adventurer so I need to go exterminate monsters" sense, but in the modern extermination sense of putting rat poison bait in the sewers, or fumigating a house.
And what do you think happens in an RPG system isekai when you take out massive quantities of monsters and pests using modern extermination techniques? :P
It's kind of funny for somebody's "cheat skill" in an isekai to be their mundane Earth profession.
-
@guspaz He ´s registered as Adventurer but he´s working as Exterminator......next I don´t wanna spoil anything here so i leave it at that :D
-
@theredjet Yeah, I just meant that, I don't mean he's exterminating monsters in the normal subjugation sense, I mean he's getting guild quests and then treating them like jobs for a modern Earth exterminator. He's acting as an isekai Orkin man ;)

LNDB is a bit behind, it says only 6 volumes are out. Volume 8 of this series came out a month ago (25 September 2018).
Just making a little bump, too, while I'm at it 😉

I havent read the LN of this but the manga was really good. I really like the fact that the MC is an adult and not just a sex driven teen whose goal is to build his own harem. Seeing him deny girls (atleast in the beginning) is refreshing, yet I wouldnt mind him getting closer to one of them, or more, as the story progresses.
-
I've updated the LNDB page now to reflect the latest volumes.
-
Looks like we will get the manga of it
-
Here's hoping that one of those 5 LNs is Exterminator, too 😅

I certainly wouldn't be so sure, a hint that straightforward is too unusual for Sam.

Yeah, not putting my guessing eggs in the basket yet. I'm guessing it could be this, but it could be something else involving bug creatures? Bug ghosts (isn't there that one LN that had an anime where the people controlled bug monsters, Mushiuta or something?)?
-
@terrence
it totally refers to the Demi-Dragon Worm battle at the beginning of Infinite DendrogramOh yeah, I upvoted this because I like these sorts of collisions with modern world aspects and isekai worlds.

Judging this by 11 chapters of manga, the story is pretty generic.
MC finds a loophole that lets him power level super fast and it makes himself crazy strong. He obtains a bunch of skill points and abilities. What does he do with that?
Does he help his companions level up?
Does he make new gear for his companions to protect them better on their travels?
Does he get intimate with countless woman throwing themselves at him?None of the sort, he goes sightseeing around the world. The story is kinda boring and uneventful, the MC is a dullard. While there are some heartwarming moments here and there, its just not interesting enough.
-
Except he didn't intend to find the loophole, nor did he intentionally take advantage of it. It was just something that happened as a natural consequence of doing his job. After becoming crazy strong, he... kept doing his job.

That is why he is a boring, most uninteresting and unimaginative character I have seen in Isekai so far. If anything, he does not feel like a character at all, he is more of a dead fish being swept by the stream.

@zing I have not read the manga but is it possible that you are looking for what isn't there when instead it should be looking for what is there? I mean I can think of quite a few series where is pretty lax and more slice of life or tourist and sightseer than action.

Maybe? By 11th chapter the impotent MC started to annoy me, he is just too passive, completely lacks ambition. Calling him an underachiever is an insult to underachievers. After reading the manga, I came to realise that this is not for me.
