Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu. ( I hate being in pain, so I think I'll make a full defense build.)
-
@caramelwithoutthesalt Sure, but localization companies are also in their right to say "that's too high, we won't pay for it."
-
@caramelwithoutthesalt But if the anime turns out to be a tragedy that no one watches, then the English publisher is theoretically out on the investment.
-
@aruseus493 I think the ideal thing to do is to get a few volumes out before the anime releases so even if the anime was a trainwreck the books still had time to get a fan base.
-
@eternal-wanderer That can only apply to publishers like Seven Seas and J-Novel Club that can do digital first to reach the market first. Other publishers (Yen Press) are kind of stuck in the position of announcing a license and then it comes out like 8-10 months later.

This post is deleted! -
@aruseus493 Depending on the timing even Yen Press can get books out before an anime, for example Danmachi was licensed and released before season 1 of the anime aired though admittedly they only got one volume out before the anime aired.
-
@eternal-wanderer I think that's a whole other condition. A publisher really needs to remain ahead of the anime where it ends. Otherwise, they won't get that impatient anime audience that isn't interested in reading the story they just watched. (Even if every decent LN fan tells them to start at the beginning.)
-
Up to volume 8 now.

Wonder if there is any news on this? I love this novel and i would love to see it licensed and released in english. Honestly, the world needs more novels like this to balance out the sea of lesser stuff.
-
@sabruness Well the anime is coming out in 2020, so hopefully that will cause it to be licensed. I know Sam said JNC has already made a bid on it, but the fact that it’s been so long must mean it was rejected.
-
Official Title SUCK! : All Points are divided to VIT because a painful one isn´t liked(ANime starts January 2020)
-
I hope that's not the official English title distributors stateside go with.
A "painful one isn't liked"? A painful what?
-
Where is this official title listed? I'm not seeing any official english title listed on AniDB yet at least.
-
@terabyte You can faintly see it on the cover of the JP light novel, and more easily on the manga. It's just the garbage English title though, which likely won't be what the localized English title will be.
-
@legitpancake Oh ok. Yeah, I don't consider official in any way those Engrish titles on JP covers. Some rare exceptions aside, they're all garbage 😅
-
@legitpancake
No offense on the JP Publisher but it's like it was done by Google Translate. -
@bartzbb If you think that's bad, you should take a look at Realist Hero.
-
@BartzBB @LegitPancake or WorldEnd I don't know how they even arrived at that first sentence...
-
@terrence Crunchyroll tweeted about IT And made article
-
I have seen an announced title on crunchyroll get changed by the time the show came out recently. We can only hope they fix this one.
