Are there people who are trying the latest beta that are doing fine? I haven't seen much response aside from that odd battery issue (I have no idea what that might be), so if not I will make preps to actually release it.
Generally fine, although as some have commented the loss of % in list can make it harder to find unread stories and some of the releases are not in order of release which makes it easier to accidentally miss part.
Yea, though I’m thinking maybe if it’s gone for good, @Sam-Pinansky what do you think of a button or link somewhere on the series page that will directly ‘resume to last read’ position or something without us having to go search for the exact chapter. That would come in very handy.
The app beta does this, so I presume you mean something else.
-
@animej I didn't see that option in the beta app. I saw one for resuming the individual 'chapter', but not resuming the 'series'.
-
Is there no favourite/bookmark option for the series? As well as a continue where I last left off button or there could be an option to display "Read" parts or "Unread" parts. Also an option to sort them by latest first or oldest first.
-
@sinnoaria the blue bar on the cover image is your progress, The thick bar is unread, full width thin means read and partial width is partially read.

@animej That doesn't work reliably. It sometimes doesn't update.
yea, we need to exit the series page and enter again for the blue progress bar to update

When reading with a device in landscape mode, the reader fails to make use of the entire width of the screen. This happens both when switching to landscape from portrait in the middle of reading, as well as when launching the app while the device is in landscape mode. Tested on Android Oreo and Android Lollipop.
Workaround solution - lock the app to portrait orientation
-
@microdynames on iOS turning the screen doesn’t do anything. There’s a landscape mode on Android?
-
@legitpancake Insofar as on Android the app attempts to reorient when the gyroscope says so (and then manages to screw up), yes.
-
@microdynames I thought we locked the app to portrait mode, but maybe some android OSes don't allow that?
-
@sam-pinansky well, on both my phone and tablet the app attempts to reorient when the device is held horizontally and autorotation is enabled at the system level. For what it's worth Moon+ Reader and Fire Emblem Heroes both lock to portrait without issue.
-
@sam-pinansky Definitely not locked, the app auto rotates to landscape when my tablet is turned. My tablet is running on stock android 8.1

Suggestion for the final version - a visual indication that one is not logged in (like turning the Login button red or something).
Currently when the token expires and forces a logout, there is no indication of such except that attempting to read a locked part returns only a blank white page with an endless spinning loading indicator. One isn't aware of the logout until checking the login page.

Just tested beta on Android 8.0.0 (OxygenOS 5.0.5) and can confirm that it is not locked to portrait mode. It follows the system setting for it as others have noted.

@sam-pinansky
Could you consider including the landscape mode into the app?
I dont think it would need too much extra work. -
Tapping to turn the page has suddenly become a lot more unreliable in the latest app version. Swipe to turn always works, but tap often fails randomly.

The new update is up on iOS!
