Favorite Quotes so Far from J-Novel Club stuff? Quotes from other Manga / Light Novels?

What are some of your favorite quotes from the J-Novel books?
Mine?
Grimgar
I like some of Haruhiro's almost existential thoughts about his purpose and death from Grimgar (spoilers for Grimgar volume 1):
“When I die, I wonder what will happen to me. Is there some place like heaven, and will I be able to meet you there someday? I don't know. There's no way to know. No one knows what comes after death. But at the very least, we won't be able to talk until then.
There's a wide, deep and fast running river between the living and the dead. Once you cross that river, no matter what happens, you're never coming back. It's a one way trip.”
― Ao Jūmonji“I ought to get some shut-eye. All this thinking isn't doing me any good. Something good might happen tomorrow, anyway. Today's over now. I can't do anything about that. Tomorrow's what's important now. What will I do tomorrow?”
― Ao Jūmonji -
I know the title is from J-Novel stuff, it can I mention ones not from any J-novel stuff?
Sorry I had to be that guy.

Sure, go ahead, as long as you warn if its a spoiler. =]

I like:
“I'm alone inside the world of the story, my favorite feeling in the world.”
― Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore“You were scared they were going to laugh at you, right? So let them! People who discourage others will never find their own happiness!”
― Inio Asano, Goodnight Punpun Omnibus (2-in-1 Edition), Vol. 1“... back then the sky seemed so vast.
And now the sky above me... is low, and narrow, and heavy.”
― Inio Asano, Solanin“Isn't it better to regret things you've done, than regret things you've never even tried?”
― Inio Asano, SolaninNote: Asano can be a bit preachy (especially in Solanin), but I like his works.
More fun ones from J-Novel Club:
“Why are we here doing all this stuff...? Even that doubt is starting to feel hazy, as if it might melt away at any moment.”
― Ao Jūmonji, Level 1ː A Whisper, an Aria, a Prayer, an Awakening“Ranta: Let's just pray that she actually is a tsundere... Though, if she were a tsundere, obviously, the one she'd go dere for is me, you know? That's kind of... not so bad, I guess?
Moguzo: O-Obviously, she wouldn't go dere for Ranta, I think...
Ranta: Oh, shut up, Moguzo!”
― Ao Jūmonji, Level 1ː A Whisper, an Aria, a Prayer, an Awakening“There was no sudden twists or ups and downs, just stories of that person's everyday life. The theme was "growing old". There were no beautiful woman...
For a current day work this is clearly taking literature in a bad direction.”
― Takashi Kajii, My Little Sister Can Read Kanji: Volume 1“The source is Twitter, home of the stupidest people on the internet.
Okay, Basariters, rip it apart.”
― 志倉千代丸, Occultic;Nine1 -オカルティック・ナイン- Occultic;Nine -オカルティック・ナイン-Everyone needs to throw that quote up on Twitter and see what their followers think. xD
-
Since so far i only read one chapter of 'My Little Sister Can Read Kanji' i will go with:
-"Personally think it's refreshing to have a book where the girl doesn't show her panties."
-What a horrible uncultured thing to say.
― Takashi Kajii, My Little Sister Can Read Kanji :DFun Story: Was trying to start the 2nd chapter of this series today on the bus on my way home. I ended up with a really weird face since was trying my hardest to not laugh. It was awkward :D ... gave up after one page.

Yeah, Siskan has some hilarious ones. You'll be laughing a lot later at some of the embarrassing things the protagonist says. =P
@Rahul-Balaggan said in Favorite Quotes so Far from J-Novel Club stuff?:
The sign of intelligence is that you are constantly wondering. Idiots are always dead sure about every damn thing they are doing in their life. -Jaggi Vasudev
I like this one. Some people choose to just go along with ideas about life and the afterlife without too much thought. That's why I like Haruhiro's thoughts, always questioning. x)
-
I rather liked this one, (because it sums up some thoughts I've had myself while trying to read some other series, most from a different publisher.)
“There are some novels that are written like... manga... But if you wish to write trash like that, then our club is not for you. Feel free to take your business elsewhere.”
A little harsh, but Little Sis. was a nicely nuanced book, both scathing and celebrating the manga/anime influenced literature.
-
I need to start using "nonsense" in a pompous know-it-all tone in my everyday life when someone questions me. Gotta love our affluent, eccentric jerk Ichiro from Paying to Win. =P
-
Not J-Novel Club stuff but :
"She is the journey... With no clear destination in sight. It is like you're the freedom itself" - Shigatsu kimi no uso (anime)
"Near where I live there's a big cherry tree. In the spring, I suppose its petals also fall to earth at a rate of 5cm/s. I wish spring would come here with you" - 5cm/s (manga)

@Rahul-Balaggan what Manga? Wow that got me hocked up in just two pictures
-
I really don't have any from J-Novels but I have others...

No matter what type of people you hate, always remember there is someone out there who despises people just like you- By Mr. Don't Know Who
-
As if people can dramatically change so quickly within the span of a several months. Humans aren’t transformers.
If I could become something I wanted to become, then I wouldn’t have become like this in the first place.
You should change, I’ll changeWhy can you accept so easily that your current self is wrong? Why do you deny your past self? Why can’t you acknowledge your current self now? Why is it that you believe in your future self instead?
If you can’t acknowledge yourself when you were the worst from long ago and yourself when you’re at the very bottom right now, exactly when can you acknowledge someone? If you’re going to reject yourself now and yourself up to this point now, can you really approve yourself from this point onwards? Don’t go thinking you can change by rejecting and overwriting yourself.
Holding onto a title from start to end, getting arrogant from acknowledgement, getting drunk on your own circumstances, screaming out how important you are, abiding by your own created rules, and being blind to your own world unless you are told outright; don’t you dare call that growth.
Why can’t you just say that you don’t have to change, that it’s fine to stay as you are? (This one is a bit long, but it did really hit where it hurt... Does this count as a quote?) - By our one and only 8man

@ImIlyaz it's Black Clover, it's relatively new started up in Feb of 2015 and chapter 106 just came out last week.
-
@Rahul-Balaggan thanks! I'll give it a try. I always read the reviews of something before getting into it, the MAL reviews weren't that nice to this one... But I'll hage to see it for myself
-
@ImIlyaz for what it's worth this one is the very definition of a "Shonen Jump Manga", it fits every detail to a T. And for that people are definitely gonna hate on it, cause it's not "original", and because it's "generic".
I don't say that in a bad way at all, after reading manga for so long I lost interest in Shonen and prefer Shoujo now, but this manga definitely does everything it needs to do to hold my attention.
2 things I can say about it are:
- it is extremely fast paced, in the 106 chapters I have read it never slowed down for a moment.
- there is a level 10 Tsundere in here...take it as you will.
And to not stray off the original topic another quote:
The blood of someone stronger then me, is the only thing that can quench my soul. - Kamui (Gintama)
-
@Rahul-Balaggan Tsundere you say, let's go I say. Badass quote there
-
@Rahul-Balaggan Does the Tsundere have a chance of winning the guy's heart? I'm reading one right now where I'm fairly sure the Tsundere has no chance (I hope to be surprised, but eh).
Manga title spoiler:
-
@Terrence
Re: Black CloverYes, and No. He is currently in a one-way relationship (that actually can not work) and he needs to realize that it won't happen.
Once the Tsundere actually goes into" dere" mode I think her chances are 100%.Also here is a very mild spoiler
In fact I would actually like to see that happen.
Re: So Cute
Last I checked you just finished Vol 3 so here is a very very mild spoiler regarding that particular Tsundere...very mild
-
@Terrence I've heard that manga's name a few times(so cute it hurts), but I just got to say. Damn those character designs for the cover look ugly as hell, is the whole manga like that? I'm having a feeling its story makes up for it.
