@dhinawan It has an anime adaption coming out this spring, so now would be a good time to license it

I cannot remember if I heard the manga was being licensed. But after JK Haru, Older Girlfriend etc, it does not seem to be such a no chance title for J Novel. Admittedly, the name may need slight alteration for the market, possibly.
Having reached to volume 4, I quite like it, I have said it before and I still continue to stick with the opinion that there is more to this title than a generic romance series with a definite end point.

Though it would not be impossible since licenses for manga and light novels are separate, I confirmed my suspicions. One Peace Books (those who translate the Tate no Yuusha "Shield Hero") hold the license for the manga.

As a person who always prefers light novel over manga if both exist (since novels are the originally source in 99% of cases), this is devastating as I do not see One Peace actually going for the novel license as well, they have not taken the New Gate license beyond the manga.

But there is still hope...but might be another heartbreak series for me, just like Rakudai

This is soon to be a complete series, with volume 5 to conclude the story when it releases in June. http://4NN.cx/.171502

I just started watching the anime (episode one)
I can envision several possible plot lines that would be squick-inducing, but so far seems to be set up to avoid them. I like how the runaway isn't totally unworldly and how the salaryman has a (buried) heart of gold. I agree the title doesn't fit the tone (so far). The MC isn't interested in 'kids'

                I read banned books

Assuming the anime roughly follows the LNs, I've noticed there's more than a passing similarity between this series and a recently self published series on Amazon, called "I fell in love with a soapland girl". Not sure if anyone has noticed it.

@heroicscrotum I bought the available volumes of Soapland. Haven't read more than 10% in to it yet. Have other things ahead of it in the read queue.

I have never heard of it, but will have to give it a read sometime.

Despite the title apparently very wholesome and charming. And now it's going to be complete. I'm a definite upvote.

Quick update: apparently, the LN of HigeHiro has been licensed… by Kadokawa themselves. Dunno why they’re suddenly licensing manga and LNs on their own when they own two licensing companies, but ¯\(ツ)/¯

Through Bookwalker(owned by Kadokawa)? If so it wouldn't be first time, they already did the same with The Ryuo's Work is Never Done!.

Interesting choice of titles though. Not that I mind, I'm glad they're picking those, perhaps with luck they might even pick up Redo of Healer, after all the author of that has expressed interest in getting it out in English, and it's also published by Kadokawa themselves...
