Shave the Beard, Pickup a Schoolgirl [Licensed by Kadokawa]
-
I'm here just to add that second volume was even better.
P.S.: can someone change thread title, please? To romaji or current english fanTL one. Current one is pretty misleading imo. -
Manga been getting some promotion lately. Here's a little advertisment thingie I think.

And you can see the manga's volume 2 cover here.

This is getting an anime.
-
Wow, hasn’t even been out for two years, only three volumes released, and it’s already getting anime. Cmon Kadokawa, let JNC get some new stuff.
-
Manga licensed by One Peace Books (I feel like ANN kinda buried the lead here by highlighting that other manga in the title).
-
Guess One Peace is uninterested with light novels other than Shield Hero. With the anime coming out in just a couple weeks, it's a shame the LN wasn't licensed.
-
This has an alternative title "I Shaved, Then I Bought A High School Girl Home". I have read the fan translation (up to some of v2) and it is not as the description implies. So far a "Slice of Life" with the man's relationships becoming more complex as the story progresses. Worth a read. (I have no idea what shaving has to do with the story).
-
@dhinawan It has an anime adaption coming out this spring, so now would be a good time to license it
-
I cannot remember if I heard the manga was being licensed. But after JK Haru, Older Girlfriend etc, it does not seem to be such a no chance title for J Novel. Admittedly, the name may need slight alteration for the market, possibly.
Having reached to volume 4, I quite like it, I have said it before and I still continue to stick with the opinion that there is more to this title than a generic romance series with a definite end point. -
@theredjet Vote YES! 👍

Though it would not be impossible since licenses for manga and light novels are separate, I confirmed my suspicions. One Peace Books (those who translate the Tate no Yuusha "Shield Hero") hold the license for the manga.
As a person who always prefers light novel over manga if both exist (since novels are the originally source in 99% of cases), this is devastating as I do not see One Peace actually going for the novel license as well, they have not taken the New Gate license beyond the manga.
But there is still hope...but might be another heartbreak series for me, just like Rakudai

This is soon to be a complete series, with volume 5 to conclude the story when it releases in June. http://4NN.cx/.171502

I just started watching the anime (episode one)
I can envision several possible plot lines that would be squick-inducing, but so far seems to be set up to avoid them. I like how the runaway isn't totally unworldly and how the salaryman has a (buried) heart of gold. I agree the title doesn't fit the tone (so far). The MC isn't interested in 'kids' -
Assuming the anime roughly follows the LNs, I've noticed there's more than a passing similarity between this series and a recently self published series on Amazon, called "I fell in love with a soapland girl". Not sure if anyone has noticed it.
-
@heroicscrotum I bought the available volumes of Soapland. Haven't read more than 10% in to it yet. Have other things ahead of it in the read queue.

I have never heard of it, but will have to give it a read sometime.
-
Despite the title apparently very wholesome and charming. And now it's going to be complete. I'm a definite upvote.
-
Quick update: apparently, the LN of HigeHiro has been licensed… by Kadokawa themselves. Dunno why they’re suddenly licensing manga and LNs on their own when they own two licensing companies, but ¯\(ツ)/¯

@torka
Yup. Just read the same thing. DONE! -

Through Bookwalker(owned by Kadokawa)? If so it wouldn't be first time, they already did the same with The Ryuo's Work is Never Done!.
Interesting choice of titles though. Not that I mind, I'm glad they're picking those, perhaps with luck they might even pick up Redo of Healer, after all the author of that has expressed interest in getting it out in English, and it's also published by Kadokawa themselves...
