New iOS App Version now available for beta testing!

Hitting either yes or no for resume does no different in the new update. They both reset to the beginning of the part.
The more you zoom in on a manga panel, the bigger the multiplier it is when you move around, which can get annoying.
-
@legitpancake It was resuming correctly for me. What device are you using?
-
@sniper_samurai iPhone 8. When I click resume --> yes, the bottom of the page shows what percentage I had been at, but it is at the top of the part, and as soon as I scroll down, the percentage resets.

Scrolling/swiping in the new beta is incredibly broken, crazy flashing seizure town:

@legitpancake I have the same problem but with horizontal scroll in my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
-
A couple of bugs I’ve noticed that I don’t think were mentioned that I observed on my iPad (9.7” iPad Pro):
-
When reading novels, images are split in two as if they’re about 1/3 down the page. This is consistent for covers and all other images.
-
Tap doesn’t work to go to the next page if there’s an image. Instead, I have to swipe. Tap works for text pages just fine (as does swipe).
-
For manga, if I read it in landscape, I can’t always get the last page of the chapter to show up. I could in A Very Fairy Appartment and Realist Hero, but all the other manga I read I couldn’t get to the last page.
-
-
The new version, 2.1.4, is available now.
Swiping works properly, but the animation lags a little if swiping the full width of the screen.
Images are now centred correctly, but are still only constrained by width so continue to be split over multiple pages.
Text is now overlapping the image on the second page which is a major issue. I’d hold off on downloading this version, especially if you read in landscape mode as at least half a page of text gets obscured when an image is displayed.
Tested on an iPad 6th gen running iOS 12.1.1
-
The swiping is working again, yes, but it exposes a really annoying behaviour: any amount of swipe (even one pixel) will cause a page turn, so if you accidentally swipe a page, or try to undo your action, the page will turn anyhow. Normally it should be required that you swipe a certain amount (like 15%, or 25%, or something) before it triggers a page turn.
A very quick animation of the page sliding the rest of the way would also be useful for keeping track of which way the page is turning.
-
I’m still not able to go to the last page in manga chapters when reading in portrait, though this time I was able to change the orientation to landscape and read it that way. I tested it with the three new chapters just posted, and they all behaved the same way.
I’ve been reading light novels in landscape, and I do get the images spread over two pages, but I didn’t notice the top was covering any text.
I’m reading on an iPad Pro 9.7” running 12.1.1, same as my last post.
-
@lilitu93 This is what I get when reading in landscape on the second page of an image
-
@sniper_samurai Not sure the problem is exclusive to landscape - in portrait, the image wraps over onto the next page a bit too. Only one line of text is impacted, though, not virtually the whole page!
(iPad Mini 4, iOS 12.1.0, app v2.1.4)
-
@hamsterexastris It does, though isn't as bad as only 1-2 lines get overlapped.
-
@sniper_samurai I double-checked and it is covering a few lines of text for me too, but I didn’t notice at first as it wasn’t in the middle of a sentence and the bottom of the image was so dark, I only noticed when I looked again that some text was covered up. This was in the latest part of Potion LolI, and it just happened to occur where it wasn’t 100% obvious if you were reading quickly.
So I can confirm that I’m having that problem as well.
-
I just found this today and took a look at the latest version (2.1.4-214). A couple bits of feedback from my first look on my original iPad Pro (12in):
-
While the app appears to be able to rotate to a horizontal mode now, it still cannot completely rotate to be used vertically with the tablet upside down. This is an issue because during long reading sessions I frequently find myself plugging the iPad in to charge or maintain the power level. Under normal circumstances, I then flip the tablet around so that the plug is not getting in the way, but because the JNC app cannot rotate, it means I usually switch over to doing/reading something else at that point.
-
The member login page does not seem to bring up a keyboard compatible with iOS 12's auto-fill feature that ties into the OS Keychain feature or third party password apps such as LastPass.
-
When scrolling in the manga view, the left-right scrolling option does not properly lock the pages vertically so that they can only scroll left or right. The page kind of floats while you're holding down and can be moved in any direction (with space above or below being white when exposed), but depending on how much your swipe ends up being accidentally diagonal, it can result in either no page turn occurring, or some very fast flashing back to the same page you were just on. In comparison, the up-down reading mode completely locks horizontal movement and does not allow for accidental or invalid swiping in the wrong direction.
-
-
So far my only issue is when I am reading and I go to change pages sometime the drop down menu will drop down which turned into an annoyance very fast

Reminder that this app expires in a week on TestFlight.

Reminder that this app expires in a week on TestFlight.
4 days left now on mine.
The public version on AppStore is still on 2.0.5 while the TestFlight is on 2.1.4. I forgot what fixes we had since then but I'd rather be on the latest build. Any plans to renew the TestFlight? Now would be a good time :)
-
@redarx You can still use the app after it expires, you just won't be able to download it. I'm still using 2.1.3 as 2.1.4 has a serious text overlap issue causing text to overlap with images.
-
And it has expired so I can't open the app anymore...
Back to the old one I guess.
-
I would hope they at least extend the expiration date as the current released version hides some text after every image. It is a major pet peeve of mine.
