I hadn't watched E1 until yesterday. I found it a bit surprising that they jumped right from Wilfried "nearly killing" Rozemyne at the end of E1 to back at the temple at the beginning of in E2. It gave the impression that the scene was slapstick humor rather than something that actually happened in the plot.

Well, they have lots to cover. They need to cover whole part 3 in one season so I guess lots of it will be cut. FOr people that read book there are lots of "nods" in anime which non book readers will not understand.

Considering that part 2 took two seasons to cover four volumes, I rather doubt that they'll be covering all five volumes of part 3 in a single season. They're far more likely to end this season with the Hasse execution.

I just want to make sure but are you aware that this season is two cour?

There are animes with more than a hundred episodes in a season (no idea on what schedule they were released, I'm just looking at the listings on Crunchyroll), so why do they need to abridge things so aggressively? I'm just greedy and want more episodes, i guess.

Reading Bookworm, Bibliophile, and Dahlia. Also, Girl Genius, xkcd, Witch Hat, Harpy Gee, and Suitor Armor. Looking for suggestions.

I'm amused that their solution to "the Italian Restaurant plot line was completely ignored" is to act as if viewers already know what's going on.

I've been rewatching season two, and they mention the restaurant several times. For example, Benno is excited that the orphanage director chambers include an oven, because chefs can practice with it before the restaurant is ready.

I actually was not aware of that. Though they'll really have to cut a lot to fit all of part 3 into two cours, considering how much they cut from seasons 2 and 3 just to fit all four volumes in.

@AliceCheshire I haven't seen anywhere saying they were planning to fit it all into this season, either. They just might only do half of it and then do a 2 cour season 5 to do the other half. Or we might get it all this season. We'll have to see how fast their pacing goes.
