I'm not sure why, but this episode gave me much more warm fuzzies than previous ones. (Maybe it is all the cute kiddies?) I feel they did a good job here.

They didn't pronounce Philine's name they way I would (both i's are long, the e is silent.)

They didn't specify that the song Rozemyne sung was from an anime. Does anyone recognize the tune as coming from any anime? I suspect it does not, which would be disappointing.

Previously they'd translated 'archduke candidate' as 'succession candidate', and I was OK with that. But now they are using 'archduke candidate'. How about some consistency? If there were good reason to prefer 'archduke candidate', the translator should have considered those reasons before using 'succession candidate'.

Architecture review of the castle: First, it isn't a castle, it is a palace. However, we misname things as castles so often over here in our world that I'll give them a pass on that. So often in anime/manga I see flat roofs where they make no sense, but here all the roofs are sloped. I'd have liked to see them more sloped, given this is a snowy climate. There aren't remotely enough chimneys compared to what we'd have had in our world, but maybe they have some magical workaround. I don't fully remember what all the side buildings are for, but I'm not sure they're all big enough. Is one of them the residence of Sylvester and Florencia? This should be pretty grand.

Summing up: This architecture is well above the (rather poor) average of anime/manga.

They also had Wilfried sing the same song, which makes no sense for several reasons:

        • he's a child of spring, and it's a song for the God of Summer
        • the song itself is RA-level, beyond his skill level
        • the last thing they want is to make it easy to compare him to Rozemyne, when he's not even as good as archnoble Gregor.

IIRC, Sylvester and Florencia live in the main building. The side buildings are, in theory, for the second and third wife and their children, though Veronica used to live in one. And then, there's the North Building for Florencia's kids. But Karstedt may have lived there after his baptism, so I'm actually not sure which kids live in the North Building..

I suppose it would have been cheaper if they had gone meta and used Bookworm's own music. 8-)

They did do a decent job of having the earlier kids playing a simpler version of the song. Not sure if that's how they did it but the earlier kids sounded like they were plucking single notes while Myne was doing arpeggiated chords (plus singing. Actually, Myne sounded like she got extra background instruments for a fuller sound). Sadly, Myne was not depicted as "in the moment" when the blessing came out. She was just business as usual and then surprised.

Reading Bookworm, Bibliophile, and Dahlia. Also, Girl Genius, xkcd, Witch Hat, Harpy Gee, and Suitor Armor. Looking for suggestions.
