I didn't like the ED at all, though.
I completely disagree. I loved the whole museum art exhibit of the history of printing technology thing they have going with it. The entire time I was watching it I thought, "I really wish I could go to this exhibit for real!"

I'm kinda confused here.
There was the section where Rozemyne went all wild burbling about the metal letter thingies and how that related to printing, with images from the museum visited in the series of videos mentioned below,@talisein said in Ascendance of a Bookworm - anime discussion:
Here's a video with Myne's VA using a Gutenberg press reproduction. The channel has many other videos with her at the Japan printing museum; they even had a chained book she was able to touch! Even without subs it is interesting to watch them.
but that wasn't in the ED.
It was when what's-his-face asked her to become his patron. (Johann? I'm truly bad at names.)I agree that I'd love to visit that museum.

@weasalopes
Yeah I was surprised when those still photographs popped up, I was like oh I know exactly where that is from! I'm totally going to the tokyo print museum. Whenever Japan opens for tourism..
Actually i have flight credit i need to use this year, so maybe I should try the Plantin museum in Belgium if Japan doesn't open in time.

So are you saying I did like it after all? :)
Well actually perhaps I did, because after a few more watches it's growing on me.

The anime will be airing first in Japan on Yomiura TV at 2:40am JST (1:40pm EDT/7:40pm CEST) and later in the week on other TV channels.
Crunchyroll has posted an air time of 5:00pm EDT/11:00pm CEST. (which yes, means the anime is releasing at exactly the same time in North America and Europe as the pre-pub of the LN is)This Is a lie. Here in Mexico (Central Daylight Time) the anime airs at 1 PM

@alfonso_rd_36
I don't know enough concerning Crunchyroll to rule out the possibility that they release episodes at different base times in different countries; that while simultaneous within a given country, it's not simultaneous in all of their affiliates worldwide.The US release was at 11:30 AM Pacific time.

If anyone is interested, I could go over to the Tokyo Print Museum and try to take some pictures (some museums here allow it, some don't) The Museum actually isn't too far from where I live.
I could either make a gallery for the pics or make a discussion in the Bookworm section on here to post them for everyone.

PLEASE DO!
ahem...thank you that would be wonderful!

@osrizzo
To build upon @Lily-Garden's response, Yes, we're interested.Based upon the videos, it's a fascinating place.
-
@lily-garden @Weasalopes
Ok!
Looks like the museum requires me to make a reservation right now (because of COVID) so I think the earliest that I can get over there is next week.

@talisein in my opinion I think its to posed to represent her different phases of book making in addition to her momentum.
poor myne with her constant failures in making paper at the beginning, she is walking slowly because she is very far from her goal.
merchant myne is walking at a much brisker pace because she finally made paper
apprentice shrine median myne has acquired the work force needed to actually make the books she desires so she is jogging
ceremonial robs myne's momentum is near unstoppable as she attempts to make letter type and such and i think that is supposed to be represented by her run
Spoilers contains developments that will likely happen later in the season:
-
-
@osrizzo Oh no! I never even considered that they might make it that bad.
-
Not so much a spoiler as a hint of things to come but...
All in all I'm just so happy to have it back. And with what even feels like slightly improved animation to boot. Seemed cleaner, somehow.
-
@osrizzo - You know, I was kind-of sad about this probably being the last season, but now that you've pointed this out, I'm glad there won't be an anime adaptation of P3. (/s)
-
I'd be interested in seeing photos from the print museum. That sounds lovely.
-
Eh, I'm still sad that this is likely the last season. I try not to be too hard on the translator, especially when it comes to these faux western names. If everyone remembers, the first season came out right after the first season of Shield Hero, where the name Myne was used by one of the most hated anime characters of all time. While I don't believe that it should have affected anything I can see why they may have wanted to distance our beloved gremlin. I do remember arguments that it was the reasoning at the time, anyways.
As for
Ultimately, we, as LN readers, are a bit spoiled by having a translator as talented and dedicated as Quof.
-
I'm fairly certain the picture of the press they had in the latest ep is the press from the printing museum videos. Which, if so, sweet.
-
I think you're correct, as the museum offers printing press demonstrations.
