Ascendance of a Bookworm - anime discussion

@lighthawk96 As long as you notice before they actually show it, then it's all good.
-
@jcochran True that!
-
I might sound a bit selfish here but I do hope @Quof can stay ahead of the anime, I really like reading it week to week and viewing the discussions on what's happening, if the anime got ahead it just wouldn't be quite the same.

You always have a choice to differ watching the anime and stay away from this thread.

@eternal-wanderer that depends upon a couple of factors. First of course being if the anime gets enough seasons to actually cover the story. And even though it's getting a second cour, that is by no means certain. Then there's the issue of how much content the anime cuts from the story. Doing the first part in a single cour isn't bad. If they decide the second cour should cover the second part (4 volumes), then they're pushing it. Trying to cover each of parts 3, 4, and 5 with a single cour each would be unforgivable. I figure with the ten parts per volume going forward, there will be 5 volumes per year being translated. P2V4 should be available end of May, beginning of June, which is OK for the second cour, even if they decide to cover all of part 2. After that, I just hope they don't go above 4 volumes per cour (would prefer three) and don't exceed an average of five volumes per year.

@jcochran There's a part 5?

Yes, part 5 is about third of the series. Volume 1 of Part5 LN is coming out in Japan next March. It is expected to take 3 years with around 12 volumes.

@hiroto Ambitious, if nothing else.
-
Love the reaction of Myne's audience when she casually offers the equivalent of $600,000 in order to be allowed to become an apprentice of the temple.
-
@paul-nebeling We have to hope the author doesn't do anything stupid, like fall off a ladder while moving in to a new home and leaving a series unfinished...
-
@jcochran
Why do you translate 1 large gold = $600,000? (I agree - my translation is $500,000 which is close enough, I am just interested in how you got there.) -
@libri-liberorum I didn't. I've seen that figure used elsewhere from a small copper upwards. Their logic seemed reasonable, so I remembered it. Although it may be a bit high since considering it now implies that Gunther makes on the close order of $60,000 per year which seems rather high for their living situation (based upon statement where the two small gold and eight large silver Myne spent for her treatment being about 2.5 years of his pay. That makes his yearly income about one small gold). Given that data point, I now think the 600k is high. Think your 500k is closer since it implies a yearly income of 50k for Gunther.

@libri-liberorum I think you meant to post this in the members forum thread for Part 2 Volume 2 and not the anime thread.

@lurkingmclurk You are right. Sorry.

In Japan, final episodes 13 and 14 are aired in sequence today. I wonder if crunchyroll would manage to do the same.

All the end-cards.
