Did we just get a brief glimpse of Heidi and Josef? I think we did...
And possibly Johann too.

Release date for season 3 announced as 11 April. Subs usually come out at the same time. Dubs are highly variable.
-
Episodes will air in Japan at around 17:30 GMT, Crunchyroll airing times still TBC but subs should be available at 18:00 GMT.
-
Here's a video with Myne's VA using a Gutenberg press reproduction. The channel has many other videos with her at the Japan printing museum; they even had a chained book she was able to touch! Even without subs it is interesting to watch them.

These were way cool, even to those like myself who understand hardly a word of Japanese.
Context helps loads, and even without an understanding of most of the words, the changes in tone and 'body language' convey a lot...
They were very good presenters.Thank you for sharing the link!
Oh.
It should be noted that a number of the related videos are on limited duration access.
They've been put up to help drum up interest in Season 3, and will be taken down at that point.
This apparently includes stuff that had been done on NicoNico some time in the past; they reposted them on YouTube as part of this.
Including one session with two of the VAs where Miya Kazuki takes part remotely; the image is a portrait of Myne placed at the table, but you hear Kazuki-sensei speaking.
So you want to view them now. -
Noticed last night that an "unofficial source" posted what they've labeled as episode 1 & 2 of season 3 on Youtube. I hope they're mislabelled because ep 1 is a recap of season 1 from Lutz's perspective and ep 2 is season 2 from Gil's. Wouldn't want recap edits to count against the season's episode numbers. 8-)
-
@arghc They're on Crunchyroll as E26.5 part 1 and part 2.

Hello,
This is a very casual reminder for anyone posting in this topic that it is the Anime discussion topic, and any future knowledge (past what has premiered in anime form) should be discussed briefly in spoiler tags.
I say briefly to avoid turning the anime discussion topic into a general discussion topic.
Thank you

The anime will be airing first in Japan on Yomiura TV at 2:40am JST (1:40pm EDT/7:40pm CEST) and later in the week on other TV channels.
Crunchyroll has posted an air time of 5:00pm EDT/11:00pm CEST. (which yes, means the anime is releasing at exactly the same time in North America and Europe as the pre-pub of the LN is) -
@pcj I was afraid that was going to be the case. Now I have a hard decision to make on which to do first.
Edit - apparently not, the anime is out now.
-
In the first summary episode (E26.5P1), Lutz narrates (according to the subtitles):
Learning about Main's secret made something fall into place deep inside of me. It may not have meant much to anyone else, but it was a big piece in the puzzle of my life.
This parallels Myne's narration in E8:
Lutz's words made everything fall into place deep inside of me. It may have only been a tiny piece, but it was the final piece of the puzzle that is my life here.
-
the episode appears to be out now!

The first episode was delayed in Japan anyway, it should have been at 2:29am JST, but as for the Crunchyroll timing it looks to me like it's 18:30 GMT, so 2:30pm EDT.

@angelus
Aired at 11:30 AM here on the US West coast. -
I like the new OP! When Myne is going through her commoner -> merchant -> shrine maiden though, I panicked when she broke out into a run. I know every OP needs the MC to run, but for Myne... hmm, maybe its really pointing out how she doesn't maintain her elegance in the temple at all? /s
-
@talisein, I didn't like the ED at all, though.
Anyway, no significant drop in animation quality from the previous season and rather less of the horrendous sidemouth too. But the end card! Well, of course it would be fantastic, seeing who drew it!

So that would fit with 2:30pm EDT then.

@talisein in my opinion I think its to posed to represent her different phases of book making in addition to her momentum.
poor myne with her constant failures in making paper at the beginning, she is walking slowly because she is very far from her goal.
merchant myne is walking at a much brisker pace because she finally made paper
apprentice shrine median myne has acquired the work force needed to actually make the books she desires so she is jogging
ceremonial robs myne's momentum is near unstoppable as she attempts to make letter type and such and i think that is supposed to be represented by her run
-
@angelus yeah, the series page for Crunchyroll still says 5pm EDT on it, but obviously it lies because it came out sooner than that.
