@Walksauce I kinda took it as too ambiguous to be sure, like that, too. Without another announcement to back it up, it's safer to assume they're not doing anything else. But that doesn't stop me from looking forward to it if it might happen.
-
@Opal yes I was disappointed also about not seeing more of Japan plus in The books s he got to beat her mom's food I was hoping for a whole episode for the mindvtrip
-
I think there's going to be a season 2 Part 2. Otherwise known as season 3.Since season 2 was the 1st 2 books of the 4 books that make up part 2

Another hole that was left out of the anime was how much mana Myne actually had. It left out the fact that she has more mana then the arch-duke himself, and she is only a child. This also explains why it’s so important to determine if she’s a threat or not by going into her memories.
-
Having lost my own mom recently... even in abbreviated form her seeing her mom one last time was still a gut punch. So... I guess it was effective.
Even though it can't stand up to the LN's of course, the anime has its own special charm so I really do hope we end up getting more of it. Digging out volume sales to compare is just a pain but given that there are more than a few folks I've seen now that are here and joined to J-Novel because of this anime, I do have some cautious optimism about sales also going up elsewhere enough to encourage more anime.
-
@Segoth Somewhat intentional I think. Other than saying that the archduke had approved her getting blue robes - which is a fib I think, considering they agreed to it after her crushing, so any approval was after the fact - they have skirted around him a bit, including not pointing out that he was the one that approved the mind reading tool. Saving all of that for the next season I'm thinking!

@xdrfiredogx I'm another one who became a fan thanks to the anime. Wound up buying the books because the cliffhanger leading into episode 8 was a week off and like heck I was going to wait an entire week to find out what happened. I'm hoping there's going to be another season, but in the meantime I'm enjoying re-reading the LN (and eagerly awaiting the publishing of the end of Arc 2 this Tuesday).
-
Here's to looking towards a third season. That final card gives me some hope.
-
I just went to my Crunchyroll queue and there was no new Episode of Bookworm. Can I get and 'f' to pay respects.
-
@db0ssman There actually is a new episode, but of the English dub :)
It’s actually really good btw, I recommend it. -
@xdrfiredogx Not sure if it's a fib. Although not yet revealed in the anime timeline,
Ferdinand is aware that Myne has a stupid amount of mana. The conversation about that, and the getting of permission to give Myne blue robes would probably have come under the "Give her whatever she wants, just get her in the temple because we need her mana." type of approval. -
I'm just sitting here crossing my fingers that we get a surprise announcement that season 3 of the anime gets announced for fall 2020/winter 2021... with the news that they're planning on doing a full run of the series. Yes, it's less likely than the possibility for me to happen upon a genie in a lamp, but I can say that if I did come across one, that's like wish #2 on the list.

- Myne get baptised, has minor incident, discovers small library and asks to join temple.
- Gunther blows up. Myne goes to temple to retract offer to join. Temple discovers she has the devouring. Sends "invitation" to parents.
- Strategy meeting with Benno. Summary given to parents. Go to temple. Crush Bishop. Negotiate with priest. All terms accepted.
Now, at what time did anything involving the archduke happen? Issuing Myne blue robes was never under consideration until the negotiation in #3 above.

Actually, it was. This scene didn't make it into the anime, but in the beginning of P2V1, Ferdinand tells the High Bishop (or High Priest in anime-translation) that Myne would be receiving blue robes "as they discussed before."
It seems like the bishop might have been totally happy to give her blue robes if she were a wealthy commoner - I'd guess that it's because the alternative, having a gray shrine maiden (/ priestess in the anime) offer up mana, also had no precedent.
-
@rsog412 problem is that giving blue robes to Myne was agreed to in P1V3. And at that time no one knew Myne had a crazy amount of mana, so there was no reason to get archduke involved. Now I agree that it's possible that the archduke was informed about the decision sometime between P1V3 and P2V1, but he didn't participate in the decision since it had already been made.

Admin edit: Please don't spoil stuff that hasn't happened/been revealed in the anime yet.

@db0ssman the decision to grant Myne blue robes was made in P1V3 and the interactions between Ferdinand, the HB, and Myne are such that consulting with the archduke was impossible (problem raised, solution proposed during same face to face meeting. No external consultation possible). Now as I said, the archduke could have been informed about the decision sometime between P1V3 and P2V1, but at best the archduke's involvement can be that he didn't veto the decision that was already made.

Here's the exact quote from P2V1's prologue, which takes place immediately after P1V3 ends.
“As discussed prior, I prepared a pair of blue robes for her. Likewise, as discussed prior, she will maintain magic tools and be given work in the book room which she so desired to enter.” Ferdinand repeatedly emphasized that the terms were all what they had discussed prior to the incident. Perhaps due to his age, the High Bishop had a tendency to conveniently forget what he himself had said.
(To avoid confusion with "High Priest/Head Priest" and "High Bishop/High Priest", I'm going to call them by their names, though Brazenwest's name could still be considered a minor spoiler from the anime. The Archduke will just be called the Archduke, because his name would be a major spoiler still.)
It sounds to me like Ferdinand and the Brazenwest already understood that Myne had mana (and money) that they needed before that point, and Brazenwest had already agreed to take her as a blue robed shrine maiden.
While Myne went into the discussions assuming that getting them to accept her as a blue shrine maiden was going to be a tough sell, the Ferdinand and Brazenwest had already discussed internally and decided that it was acceptable. This doesn't prove that the Archduke was involved in those discussions, but it seems likely to me that they would have needed his approval to break from precedent and give a commoner blue robes. (Allowing her to commute from home, by contrast, wasn't something they considered, so Ferdinand had to justify himself to Brazenwest for accepting that condition.)
It's not immediately clear to me why the Archduke (or, for that matter, Brazenwest) agreed to it, since yes, they didn't know at that point just how much mana she had, nor did they know about her otherworld knowledge at the time. It's possible that Ferdinand recognized her intelligence from the short time he spent reading with her, and wanted to bring her up as a political ally. It's also possible that the church was just so short of mana that they'd resort to desperate measures for any amount more.

Ok. This is going in a spoiler tag, because from the anime POV, it's a spoiler. From the LN POV, it's speculation.
