They didn't have Benno's "Took her long enough" reaction to Myne collapsing!

And a wild Blue Priest appeared, too! But "pwee"?
Hey. It's a HUGE step up from the "oink" we saw in the trailers.
I died a little inside when I saw that line in the Crunchyroll trailer. I kinda forgotten if we've even seen the creature in this adaptation which makes the sound.

So...
Concerning Crunchyroll substandard subs, or sub-par subs, or whatever subs...Ferdinand.
Bezewanst.
Two High Priests for the price of one!At least in this episode, they were both being called High Priest in the subs, with nary an alternate title to be seen.
-
@ryanmakise Given that we didn't get an adaptation of "A Day Without Myne", I don't think so.

I am so happy they developed Damuel’s character on screen! This is how characters become alive on screen, and what separates bookworm from the generic isekai! Big Applause to the production team
I definitely second this... And also,
(spoilers from the end of part 2)

@osrizzo Micro aggression gets micro animation, love that detail

Episode 30 Preview Pictures
-
I am quite interested to see what they will do with dinner scene :)
-
@sekki, and will we see a sword dance?
-
@angelus I hope we do but considering that it will not be relevant for this season they might skip it :(
-
@sekki, and it would use up a lot of the animation budget, which I can see from the preview pics is going to be needed elsewhere.
-
I like the Glico Man pose picture.
-
Wow episode 4 is packed! I wasn't sure they would fit in everything in the final action sequence, but I think it turned out great. I want to rewatch it immediately!
-
I can't recall if anyone established a discussion topic focused on God of Darkness prayer/spell related matters, but this episode had relevant material, to say the least.
The icky stuff attacking the carriages was stated to be related to the God of Darkness.
My memory being what it is, I already can't remember if it was explicitly stated that this meant a ranking Noble was directly involved; it would be worth checking.
There was a bunch of good stuff this episode, both from a data mining perspective and an enjoyment perspective.
The animators continue making good use of the 'virtual chibi Myne' for explication of things.
-
Well that sure went fast. They covered a LOT of content but for how fast they had to charge through it they did rather well hitting the points they needed to. Of things missed I'd say not having Myne drink a potion before knocking out was odd but I get they save on a decent amount of animation budget with just that getting excised.
I can't believe I'd never considered that when Myne says, "So I just need to say a prayer to make magic happen, right?" that she was also entering Crushing mode but in retrospect it seems so damned obvious.
-
I am happy with the way they animated this portion of the book as I was engaging the with media through its runtime. The pacing is good and being a LN reader made for a richer watching experience. I am going to check the subreddit for anime watchers as they say a lot of wholesome things that LN readers could get a kick out of (I certainly did), one example is Damuel will now have shiny hair since he is taken into Myne's circle of influence.
-
They subbed his name properly! Yea!
-
@grobinson2k1 - Yeah, it looks like the subtitle-writers have been referencing the LNs this time around. They had lots of opportunities to make different choices (Gerlach, Liesegang, Sylvester) but were 100% consistent.
-
My only disappointment is that they didn't include Myne asking Karstedt if, as her future adoptive father, he would protect her from Sylvester if he got out of control. I've always thought that was a surprisingly heartwarming interaction between the two, so I'm a little sorry they skipped it, even if it isn't particularly plot important.

Yea, they could have used that instead of the tent scene at the end.
