Next Japanese LN volume P5-V2 will be released on 6/10 and TO Books started to hype it in their tweet.
https://mobile.twitter.com/TOBOOKS/status/1263333062806343680
One thing they often do with a book release is to make major related announcements, and this tweet says "Major announcement coming! But I cannot tell you!". In Japan, they put this partial banner cover on book, on top of book cover which is usually promotional material related to the book. The tweet says the cover will be uncovered on 5/25, and they always first show the partial part of the cover, or blur the bottom part so this banner part is not visible, and finally they show the whole thing usually a day or two before the book release.
For example, anime season 2 was announced on 12/8/19 while counting down toward release of P4-V9 on 12/10/19, and while anime season 1 was getting closer to the end, and it was promoted on the banner cover.
So, IF there will be season 3 this fall, this will be the logical time to announce it. If it misses this window, I don't think season 3 will be happening this year.

Well on a new subject anime episode 22 came out today. It's doing an okay job. But since Part 2 is so long it's condensing a lot. I wish Bookworm would get a better adaptation for the temple arc. Oh well. I don't think the anime is going to Part 2 volume 4.
-
@BookManiaReader i think we should keep away the anime talk out of here but yeah. that was obvious after seeing the trailer before show released.
-
@hopebestman Yeah I figured changing the topic to the anime would be a bad idea. Though I couldn't think of anything else. I'm out of subjects to speculate that hasn't been speculated a million times over.
-
@BookManiaReader @Rahul-Balaggan the hero came and fixed it.

@BookManiaReader We've known for a long time the anime would only adapt to the end of Part 2 Volume 2. It connects perfectly with the scene at the beginning of episode 1, and we would have seen Sylvester in the OP and season poster. Adapting 5 volumes into 26 episodes (plus the OVA combined would be 27) is a pretty decent pace. I honestly have no problem with the slideshow animation, it's likely a factor for why we even got 2 whole cours so fast in the first place, and the story doesn't have a lot of action anyways.
That being said, today's episode made me a bit teary-eyed when Myne finally finished the book. Probably my favorite episode so far.
-
So, maybe my ears were playing tricks on me but when she meets with HP to discuss why they were gathering soot and what her book plan is their voices sounded a bit hollow and echoed, and only that part. Makes me wonder if they had to record new lines there for some reason and had to do it again Japan went into lockdown.
Anyone else notice that?
-
@xdrfiredogx they were using sound-blocking magic items. You can see both Ferdi and Myne holding onto a green stone in that scene. The anime sound director had been using a filter or something on their voices to have a sorta echo/reverb-y(?) effect whenever they use that item.
I really like this episode! So much progress was made but it didn't feel as much of a mad rush like some of the previous ones. They finally made an honest to goodness book and seeing them all happy about it nearly made me tear up too. It took two years... I'm so proud of them. ;___;
Also, we FINALLY got to see a bit of Johann(and Ingo) and Gutenberg was name-dropped at the very end.

Here is an interesting challenge. What scene could this be within the context of P2V1 - P2V2? This is from a teaser video for S2.
EDIT: Only time I can think of Myne getting this mad is when the book room was messed up. But in this scene, Myne is definitely sitting, and doesn't fit that situation. Seems to be more like being mad at somebody she is talking with, but honestly I cannot recollect such occurrence in P2V1/P2V2.
It’s in the preview pictures for episode 23:

Episode 23, this one felt like it was at warp speed and packed full of plotlines, along with over the top expressions. I wonder how many episodes are left.
Edit add: Is it just me or did her face go full froggy a few times?

@Philip-h5
Second BD boxset contains 15-26, so 3 more.

God her expressions in this one were just perfect. It's a good reminder that even though the anime is working on a very limited budget, it isn't a lack of skills or care that's at fault.
-
@xdrfiredogx yes they were extra cute, this episode might had different animators working on it

I thought that this weeks episode was quite funny. A lot more hilarious that any of the previous ones. And the fact that she baited the High Priest into going along with her whimsy was also quite the treat. I am really looking forward to the next episode. That one should be very interesting.
-
I'm not sure I'd call "getting the magic expert to weigh in on the placement of magic in the Ehrenfest Decimal System" whimsy. It's more along the lines of "solid collections organization planning".
-
@lighthawk96
She was baited through the whole episode, not the otter way around... It was obvious Ferds had no intention of letting Myne near the Magical Bewks!!!This said the sole advantage the anime has over the Light Novel is the images, those faces... so punchable (And let's not talk about the Mynetron 2000 Calculator device).

I agree (but not about the face punching).
In the LN when reading Myne’s perspective I didn’t get the same sense of her absolute freak out over wanting to read the magic books that the anime gives, but I have no doubt that the anime’s depiction is more “true to life” than what we hear from Myne herself. :-)
-
@b-scot-morgan I know right, I, for a Download Mizkate, had to see the episode with Lord Lutzanor's issues (the one with the Mynetron 2000) without sound...
afterwards I saw it with sound and the robot voice made it extra adorable!

I wonder if

Episode 24. Definitely has a different feel than the LN. Myne seemed stuck in an Abbott & Costello schtick from the noble gate onward which IMO took away from its full on fantasy value.
Seeing the knights order was cool. Funny how the wolf was behind the rabbit. Shic-cosa sounds like "sh-t causer" in a very Charles Dickens fashion.
