Season 3 will be airing in the Spring 2022 anime season!
-
Hurray. I think that's a good choice of a key visual as well, actiony without being too much of a spoiler for the events around it.
cries at usage of Main once more

@lurkingmclurk I'd consider it a blessing if it's only that bad.

Part of me hurts every time I see it...
What's scary is how many ways they can screw up some of the potential names in S3 or a potential S4.
-
@xdrfiredogx He was in an OVA, his name should already be known right? I can't remember

In this comment for the anime, Kazuki sensei is stating that season 3 anime is 2nd half of Part 2.

That makes sense. I don't think there's really anyway they could start p3 and end in the first or second volume for a reasonable break point plot wise, especially compared to all the consequences of part 2

After watching the whole thing, I have one continuity question... Based on one of Myne's "future" inventions to fulfill a great need, why is a fast-flowing fountain in the central plaza featured in so many shots?
Good point! There are many explicit text suggesting that there is no aqueduct technology exist in the city of Ehrenfest, except for the fountain in the central plaza. Every other supply of water comes from wells, even in the castle. You definitely need gravity fed aqueduct to realize water fountain. It doesn't add up. I'll add that to my questions to ask for Fanbook 6.
I realize I am pretty late to the conversation, but you don't need aqueducts for a fountain, there are various clever designs of fountain that operated on some combination of siphon and gravity to keep a static supply of water flowing that date back far before the invention you are referencing. These designs would typically not go indefinitely and would require someone to move water from one chamber to another regularly, but it would be possible to make one that can run most of the day so someone would just need to move the supply from the lower chamber to the upper chamber using a water screw or other earlier water moving device every morning.

Even if the production quality does not improve I will still adore the gremlin being animated to complete Part 2 of the overall story. Somehow I think since it should be up to final pages of P2V4 that it might be all we get, and I’d be fine with that if they also produce some figurines to go with it.

I thought they'd have waited a bit longer for the manga to advance some more - I was expecting it for the summer season.
I hope my sister doesn't hold a bloody carnival for getting her hooked on the story but I suppose I can appease her with the books or manga in the worst case scenario. -
@lurkingmclurk You are correct of course. I think I blocked that from my memory...

Continued from: Interesting details you've noticed when rereading:
And to be clear I don't mean to hate on the show by any means; it's what first introduced me to the series and I only started reading after it was done airing and I was hungry for more. Adapting that scene is no easy task especially when you're condensing it into, what five minutes? They got the essential bits covered that were absolutely needed including a bit of Myne's desperation at missing her mom (though via very different means). I was just shocked after reading the LNs to learn that the post mind-reading hug had basically the opposite premise: Myne did it to relieve Ferdinand of his mental exhaustion and he basically accepted it whereas in the show she did it for herself and he initially pushed her off.
That moment of vulnerability on his part is so profoundly important.

@sleepytexan considering the anime is based on the light novel and not the manga it seems a good timing since the eng releases are further than the S3 will be
-
@ephidiel yep, but anime for the most part is a commercial for the manga/LNs and they typically try to plan things around the manga since they sell significantly more copies compared to light novels which are still a bit niche.
I've finally watched the anime dubbed and while I liked some of the main choices I gotta give the subbed version the win for the overall performance.
My sister has now watched the anime at least 9 times and who knows how many times to sleep.
I really do hope the upcoming season has a better budget but at the very least I hope it's not worse than what we got. -
So far I like Anime adaptation. Some things are condensed and some skipped but that is to be expected. It did not rush things. While at later episodes animation was not the best (e.g. knigh fights) I do not mind that. I preffer good story over animation. My favorite anime is 12 Kingdoms and animation there is rly awful but story is superb.

@sleepytexan Anime used to be a commercial for Manga, when you check anime schedules you can clearly see that shifted towards Light Novels in the recent years.
It is mostly LNs now and only a few Originals or Manga Adaptions each season -
New PV up on YouTube now with added "Brother Syl", including a lovable short post-credits sequence.
