I saw that the other post someone made about the anime got locked because this is supposed to be the general thread for it? Kind of sad no one isn't really talking about the cast or PV. No one I follow on Twitter reads the series so I needed to interact with the JP community for my Dendro fix.
If you guys are interested, I saw that there was a tv special promoting Dendrogram and did some digging on youtube and the official twitter. Found that it's available streaming for free! It has LYNN, a voice actress, hosting a show called Anige 11 where she invites other VAs to talk about stuff; this time with Ono Yuko who is voicing Nemesis... really cute wholesome interactions here, and they actually previewed the first 5 minutes from episode 1 of the anime almost exactly at the halfway point of the special!

no subs obviously but you can get the gist of it, sorta. There's an icebreaker segment about Miss Ono being a teacher, and then there's promotion about Infinite Dendrogram after. It's stuff that every reader will know. One comment I believe she says was that she found the role challenging because (paraphrasing here) it's hard to imagine oneself as a person who is almost always emotionally and mentally linked to someone else, which I found fascinating.
Also, if you didn't know, the full single for the opening is out, it's called Unbreakable and sung by Aoi Yuki, who will be voicing Millianne. I think the ED is going to be sung by the lady who is going to voice the young princess of Altar, I forgot both their names, sorry. MV for the OP song if interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_PAa9zmB3o
And here's the second PV for those who still haven't seen it yet, it previews the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESwp36zs30g
The official youtube has this short-form web anime called "NazeNani Dendrogram" which has these chibi versions of Chesire, Nemesis, and Shu offering lore dumps and info on the game that I assume might be either excised or only touched on in the anime proper, depending on the pacing. It's cute, the episodes vary from stuff about the continents, how jobs work, embryos, and MMO stuff.
Playlist for the shorts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6dEmpj1eRk&list=PLKGzKo02xOEwynvzRDTgyiCw6GPNd3BbP
and lastly, a greeting from some of the other actors! It was filmed in June at AnimeJapan 2019 with just simple introductions and impressions of their characters, I'd watch it just to see Hino Satoshi holding a giant plush of character Brother Bear: https://youtu.be/RcU_1Xz5A44
this got obnoxiously long for a post, I'm sorry about that. But I've been reading Dendrogram for a year exactly now and it's my favorite light novel series! I plan on supporting the anime and all the official outlets I can to help it succeed as a series. I brought it up at the ANYC panel in November, but I hope we can also get the Crow Record manga spinoff with Juliet licensed! I've bought every volume of the manga and novels and just can't get enough of it!

Episode is up! I'm only about halfway through, but it's decent so far. However, apparently there will be a 544 page bluray-exclusive novel that we probably will never get in English :(

Oh, wow. I was agreeing with the comments in the tweet saying it is a must-have, until I actually looked at the price of the blu-ray... Yeah, it is very unlikely I will buy it. I have no interest in the anime itself.
And apparently the nazenani shorts will continue up to episode 20 (+ 3 specials). They did say in episode 7 it would continue, but I didn't expect that many.
-
It seemed like a pretty decent first episode. I'm not really crazy about some of the anime translating decisions made (much like Bookworm's anime)... but otherwise I am looking forward to the next episode.
-
@legitpancake It may not stay as Blu-ray exclusive, like half of Grimgar vol 14+ and 14++ have been stories which were originally box set exclusive, something similar could append to Dendro and we could end up getting that novel in english.
-
disappointed it's not on Crunchyroll. I don't watch enough to have multiple subscriptions, and generally Crunchy is better than Funi imo. Maybe I'll get a month of Funimation and binge it once it's finished if general opinion is that it's done well.
-
I'm watching on Hulu -- but even besides Dendro, Funimation beat the crap out of Crunchyroll this season.
-
It's okay, I think they did a fairly good job adaptating the story, but the graphism on the other hand are pretty bad. They obviously weren't going to be able to do something as good as the LN, but the drawing style was really different and more importantly the color were off, something kinda like NGNL's anime would have been better.
-
@yumenokage Funimation streams subbed shows for free a week later, if you don't want to subscribe.
-
@legitpancake I might check it out earlier than when it's finished, then, since I would take subs over dubs 99% of the time anyways. Do they have lower quality if you don't have a subscription, though? I wouldn't mind commercials, but if the video would be too blurry I probably would just watch one episode to check it out and then wait to sub or buy for the rest.
-
I'm surprised. There's this new (Chinese?) company called Ani-One that's streaming it for free on YouTube for Asian regions. They have pretty decent English subs too.
From what I've seen, it's a very solid adaptation.
-
Insufficient bear puns. They better load up the second episode with them or I'll be totally disappointed. JNC's manga translation set my expectations quite high :P
-
@yumenokage I believe free members can watch it in 1080p too.
-
@dry-eyes You mean beary disappointed.
-
I could never get into the novel for whatever reason but I enjoyed the first episode, maybe the anime will make a fan out of me.
-
lack of bear puns aside, it was a fairly decent adaptation
-
Poor Nemesis... having to deal with all those undead. The voice actress did a good job with her.
-
I forgot Babi puts Tabasco sauce on her ice cream... Man, that's got to be terrible. The PK scene seemed a bit brief, but guess they've got important scenes to get to.
