Feature request - orientation lock
-
One thing that annoys me with the app (I use Android if there are major differences between it and the iOS version) is that the orientation can't be locked as simply as in say the Amazon Kindle app.
Accidentally rotating the screen triggers the black text on black background night mode bug, and the reading progress being lost bug, so it'd be extra handy to have right now.
Of course I can lock the orientation at the OS level in quick settings, but I shouldn't have to & it is a pain in the butt remembering to switch it on & off.

What would the benefit be of having a per-application orientation lock? This is almost never done in the iOS world, you normally just swipe to the control tray and tap the orientation lock.
-
I'm used to having the option in the Kindle app where I do most of my reading & it would make two of the most annoying bugs in this app less of a problem.
Who the hell reads in landscape on a mobile device anyway? (except for manga perhaps)

@smashman42 just search “landscape” in this forum and you’ll see scores of requests for the app to be able to read in landscape. I use iOS but locking the phone’s orientation is easy enough.

Yeah it would be great, especialy with the landscape bug. I've also takken the habit of locking the phone rotation when reading on the app but it would be cool to be able to lock just the app.

Moonreader+ has an orientation lock. Not a unreasonable request. I find it slightly annoying when my screen rotates unintentionally and resets my reading point back to the start of the part.

Yeah, I honestly lock my phones overall rotation to combat this. I gesture while talking and seem to exude an earnest talkative person whenever I'm reading, so people think it's wonderful to start conversations with me while I sit and try to read whatever book I've gotten.
