Arifureta anime
-
Funimation licensed the anime and will be simuldubbing.
-
@paul-nebeling lets just hope they get another season and stay true to the web and light novels
-
@jjch102296 A second season would be nice, but we'll have to see how the first one goes.
-
And now I remember why I hate funimation. Link: https://www.funimation.com/blog/2019/07/02/introducing-the-biggest-isekai-of-the-summer-season-arifureta/ -
@zing Yeah. I can understand geolocking streaming content, but doing that with news and blog posts is dumb.
Crunchyroll are announcing another series that starts today, wouldn't surprise me if it is Arifureta. Due to the delays in production it is highly possible the contracts were signed while the partnership was still in effect.
-
Actually I get geolocking news
Why promote something in a region where it can’t be watched?
-
@jon-mitchell said in Arifureta anime:
Why promote something in a region where it can’t be watched?
The entire website is actually geolocked for me, not just specific blog post.
-
@sniper_samurai We’ll have to see. Hulu is streaming Arifureta since they have a first-choice partnership with Funimation. That said, Wiseman’s Grandchild also streamed on Hulu, but was added to Crunchyroll several weeks later, so it’s still possible if you’re patient. I doubt Crunchyroll’s regions will be any less restrictive than Funimation’s, however (unless it includes the Nordics).
-
@legitpancake Indeed. I was planning on resubscribing to Funi Now this season anyway. There is a 2 month free code available for the UK & Ireland that is valid until August 1st due to Funimation buying Manga Entertainment. The code is "mangalove"
-
Because.moe doesn't have any Arifureta listing for Australia. I'mma shit bricks if I can't see it legally.
There's already a heap of interesting things not on Crunchyroll down here this season, looks like I'll have to sub to Animelab for a bit. (the only shows I'm interested in on HiDive are on Animelab too, so if HiDive get Arifureta and I need three subs I think I'll pirate again, fuckers making it too hard to do the right thing
) -
FML.........
-
@smashman42 Arifureta is streaming on Funimation in all English-speaking countries. Here's the link: https://www.funimation.com/shows/arifureta-from-commonplace-to-worlds-strongest/the-monster-of-the-abyss/
-
@legitpancake Thank you sir, but Norway is not considered English speaking enough.
-
And although for now it is still limited to the US it is on Hulu for all those that do not have a Funi Sub.
-
Thanks @LegitPancake, I'll have to compare Funimation to Animelab then, looks like something is missing off the top of my head though....
-
I am kinda curious what none fans of the series will think of the first episode.
For me, something inside me just died.
-
Well, until it shows up on VRV/Crunchyroll, I'll keep watching Neon Genesis Evangelion on Netflix.
EDIT TO ADD:
Judging from the comments posted so far, I'm starting to have a Ragnarok flashback. -
@paul-nebeling I believe subbed episodes on Funimation become free with commercials after a week just like Crunchyroll, in case it never comes over.
-
Here's my perspective as someone who never read the LN or the manga. The first episode was a confusing mess and it's definitely not for me. I guess they're targeting this to the fans only, because the first episode was that chaotic. The OP song is nice...
I tried it out of curiosity as a seasonal anime watcher.

Honestly, you guys who can't see the episode are not losing out on anything. I'd say you're blessed(?) you haven't seen it.
@Paul-Nebeling you're right about that. Unless it greatly improves from episode 2 (which I very much doubt), it's basically a repeat.
@kino No. I can assure you that any fan seeing this episode is most likely enraged by how bad it is.
