      @hiroto

Sorry for the off topic question I am about to ask but...

If I may ask, and of course you don’t have to answer, why do you buy from kindle instead of the premium editions from J-Novel Club?

I buy non-J-Novel ebooks for kindle, and it is simpler for me to just buy kindle version for J-novel too.

@rahul-balaggan I can think of one big reason to buy the Kindle edition... When you pre-order, the file "just appears" on your device on the day of release, as opposed to having to watch for it be released, then download it manually.

If you want to remove the DRM from Kindle books, you have to go through a couple of steps to make it work, but it's relatively simple. You won't get back the high-resolution pictures, though.

I could tell even a few more reasons than that simple comfort to buy via kindle instead through JNC - you want a new topic for that?

I am not sure about the intentions of the person. There are two things bugging me about it. First: the audiobooks sounds so could, it leaves a bad impression on me and therefore damages the images of novels aka JNC products. Second: good intentions in form of "let a bot speak the text with a single click effort" should not ask for any form of financial aid. It would be different to me if an actual person is reading that out loud.

Anyone can play an epub with free text-to-speech software, even Kindle books (I do it all the time with JNC prepubs and Kindle books, as it’s easier on my eyes, and iOS has native support), so yea it takes no effort. It definitely doesn’t warrant offering a patreon. That fact alone shows they didn’t have the most pure intentions.

If this guy did those stuff without asking money , honestly , i could say nothing.I love pirating stuff.I did that when i was student and i start reading light novel because it was "free" :D but now for me the sitution is different. This guy do some good stuff BUT asking money for someone else's job just for "editing , copying in a software" no.This guys intention is not good.

8 parts, 8 weeks to read a book, than binge read the same book within' 2 hours again.

@serah I think the voice they've used, for at least part of it, is Ivona's Amy.

Oh! I am fascinated. At first it sounded so well to me, that I thought it was an actual person reading it out loud. But the longer it went on, the more hollow it became. Makes me wonder how it sounds if amazon's alexa would give a go in reading such text out loud.

@serah the voice does frolic in the uncanny valley doesn't it?

Morning and Mourning sound alike for good and sufficient reasons.

                          Pretty much.

@Rahul-Balaggan @myskaros if the original meaning of the topic, to report a copyright infringement noticed by a member, is concluded, you probably want to lock the topic. Alternatively you can allow and guide this topic having a new meaning here for its own, considering there is interest towards the themes whitehats, benefits of ebook service providers, audio software.

Just mentioning it here, since I have seen topics locked for less and it would be mean people who join in the discussion now having it locked all of sudden...

People who are interested in audiobooks based on JNC light novels might want to continue discussing it here: https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/2837/j-novel-club-audiobooks-via-kickstarter

And we can still make new topics about the mentioned themes.

P.S.: I am sure not only @hiroto is curious about what JNC is going to do about the case - so if any JNC staff members can share insights, I am sure it would make a great conclusion.

@serah I can usually pick up on artificial voices fairly quickly, especially when dealing with compressed speech. The voice used is pretty good, but the lack of natural pauses gave it away in a couple of sentences.

To me, a "proper" audio book would be more of a "dramatic reading" than "vocalized text" like used here. A story is being told; tell it like it is a story, instead of a news report.

                              Exactly that. And nothing less.

Great! Bookworm audiobooks had been taken down a couple of months ago.

I've been using Karen/Australia english via ipad for my audio needs. Are there better voices? Its the only one that I could find that sound more natural

I like Ivona Justin, but I don't want to purchase the voice cause I'm not sure it'd carry over to my Android's text to speech setup.

I do use it in one Reader (Audio Reader)... But that reader doesn't have rewind options or start from the middle of a selection options, so you gotta be prepared to sit down and go chapter by chapter, and has no speed of voice adjustments.

                                      Justin voice:
